We recently connected with Francesca Tarantino and have shared our conversation below.
Francesca, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I have always loved to sing, but I never liked to sing in front of anyone, even my own mom and dad! When I was 8 I started voice lessons and my teacher helped me audition for a school musical. I waited until the last minute but I did it thanks to her guidance. I found that being on stage with others and playing a role with them was fun! I was having fun and when I was having fun I forgot to be nervous. Being in musical theatre for 5 years really helped me gain more confidence.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hi I’m Francesca! I sing, play acoustic and electric guitar, write my own songs, produce my own songs, and love to perform live! I was recently named best singer/songwriter in Orlando! I really love performing live! In fact, in 2025 I performed 150 live shows! I love meeting new people and making them smile. I love when they sing along and have fun! I have 8 singles released right now with many more on the way!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Number one for me was getting over being judged or what people thought of me. Early on, worrying too much what people thought of me really kept me from being my true self and I second guessed everything I did. I wasn’t having fun and almost gave up on my dream. So, I would say have fun, be you, and never worry about what people think!

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My dad put a guitar in my hands when I was 5. That made me want to be a musician. My mom guided me to begin my journey. Both of them helped build my confidence by letting me pursue my dreams and just be me!
