We were lucky to catch up with Franklin Mateo recently and have shared our conversation below.
Franklin, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
It likely comes from a combination of life experiences, mindset, and personal values. Single parent of two, a Boy and a Girl, both serving in the US Navy, they are my biggest drive and inspiration. Mentally I challenge myself daily to be and do better in life and also to help others do and achieve more.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a dedicated and experienced Keller Williams real estate professional with over 18 years of expertise in the Central Florida market. Specializing in helping home buyers and sellers in Orlando, Kissimmee, and surrounding areas. I have built a reputation for providing top-tier service, market knowledge, and a deep commitment to helping families achieve their real estate dreams.
As a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), a member of KW Military and KW Sports & Entertainment, I bring a global perspective and specialized insight into serving diverse clientele, including military families, athletes, and investors.
Whether you’re looking to buy, sell, or invest, I am dedicated to offering tailored strategies and expert guidance to navigate the ever-changing market.
YouTube Channel – 50 Videos in 50 Days
To further empower buyers, sellers, and fellow agents, I launched an ambitious “50 Videos in 50 Days” challenge on YouTube. This initiative was designed to educate, inspire, and provide valuable real estate and community insights, from market trends, local areas, and investment strategies, to home-buying tips, and seller secrets.
Community Service & Giving Back
Beyond real estate, I am passionate about giving back to the community. Most recently, as part of the Tackle Kids Cancer Foundation fundraising efforts, I ran the New York City Marathon (26.2 Miles), using this journey to raise awareness and funds, making a lasting impact in my community. I am also passionate about young adult’s education and development, as a KW Next Gen instructor I am committed to mentoring and empowering the next generation of young adults.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Perseverance: it takes time, there’s no such thing as an overnight success.
Education: You have to continually sharpen your skills along the way
Gratitude: Never forget where you come from and always be thankful for those you encounter along the way, as well as those who paved the way for you. A grateful heart is a happy heart.
Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
Two great books that have impacted my life.
The One Thing by Gary Keller: At any point in Life always ask yourself the Focusing Question
“What’s the ONE Thing I can do such that by doing it everything else will be easier or unnecessary?”
This question helps cut through distractions and prioritize the most impactful task at any moment.
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill: Definiteness of Purpose. “The starting point of all achievement is desire.” Know exactly what you want and commit to achieving it.
