Meet Freddrick Scott

We were lucky to catch up with Freddrick Scott recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Freddrick, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I’d say I got my work ethic from a mix of family influence and personal experience. Growing up, I was surrounded by people who didn’t just talk about hard work—they lived it. Whether it was seeing my parents juggle multiple responsibilities without complaining or watching someone close to me build something from nothing, I learned early on that consistency, taking pride in your work, and showing up even when it’s tough make all the difference.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m in the tattoo industry—not just as someone who respects the art form, but as someone actively contributing to the community. What I do blends creativity, care, and craftsmanship. I work closely with artists and clients, and I’ve also launched Eezy Butter, a natural tattoo aftercare cream designed to soothe, protect, and enhance the healing process.

What excites me most is the combination of art and intention in tattooing. Every piece has meaning, whether it’s deeply personal or purely aesthetic. Being part of an industry that empowers people to express themselves permanently is something I don’t take for granted. Tattoos aren’t just skin-deep—they’re stories, milestones, memories.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are consistency, community awareness, and a willingness to learn.

Consistency is everything—whether you’re tattooing, running a business, or building a brand, showing up every day and putting in real effort is what separates people who last from those who fade out. Even when things aren’t moving as fast as you’d like, staying consistent builds trust and momentum over time.

Community awareness means understanding the culture you’re part of and respecting the people in it. In the tattoo industry, it’s not just about talent—it’s about connection, trust, and mutual respect. I made it a point to listen, watch, and learn from artists and clients alike. That helped me build a product and a brand that actually speaks to the community’s needs, not just what I thought people wanted.

A willingness to learn has been huge. I’ve had to wear multiple hats—from creative to business-minded—and there’s always more to learn. I asked questions, sought feedback, made mistakes, and stayed open to growth. That mindset has kept me moving forward.

My advice to anyone starting out: Don’t rush the process. Put in the time to learn your craft, build real relationships, and stay open to evolving. Focus on consistency over perfection, and be humble enough to know that even the best are always learning.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me, especially in terms of entrepreneurship, was teaching me how to believe in my own ideas and follow through with them. They showed me the value of independence and what it means to take ownership of your path. Whether they realized it or not, they modeled entrepreneurship in their own way—through side hustles, resourcefulness, or just the way they problem-solved day to day.

They encouraged me to be proactive, to not wait around for opportunities but to create them. That mindset stuck with me and played a huge role in launching my own brand. Starting something like Eezy Butter took more than just a good idea—it took patience, drive, and a lot of self-belief. That foundation came from watching my parents handle life with a “figure it out” mentality.

They also taught me to take pride in what I do, which shaped how I approach my work now. Every tattoo I do, every move I make with my brand—I’m thinking about legacy, quality, and keeping my name tied to something I can stand behind.
