We were lucky to catch up with Frida Karsberg recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Frida, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I moved from Sweden to Los Angeles, leaving behind the life I had always known. I had built a career as a TV producer in a culture that felt familiar and safe, and stepping into something completely new took me a minute.
The horses came into my life first. I trained to become an Equus Coach, and through that work, I started to understand how powerful it is to be with them in this way. How they respond to what’s actually happening in the body, and how quickly things can shift when we slow down and pay attention.
As I began working with clients, I started to notice something else. I would get intuitive hits—clear feelings or a sense of knowing about what was going on beneath the surface. It wasn’t something I had planned, and it didn’t come with a roadmap. If anything, it challenged me. I had to learn how to trust something I couldn’t fully explain yet.
That process became a big part of finding my purpose. Letting go of needing everything to make sense right away, and instead staying with what felt true in the moment.
That’s what led me to Reiki. It gave me a way to understand and work with what I was already experiencing, and to deepen the work in a grounded way.
I found my purpose through doing the work, not before. Through seeing how this combination: horses, presence, and intuitive awareness, supports people in coming back to themselves, no matter where they are in life.
That’s when it became clear to me that this is what I’m here to do.
Since then, I’ve continued to lead with that trust. Building something that didn’t exist for me before, and allowing it to take shape step by step, with heart and a deep respect for the work.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I work with people alongside horses, combining Equus Coaching, Reiki, and intuitive guidance. Everything we do is from the ground, no riding or prior experience needed. It’s about creating a space where people can slow down and actually feel what’s going on in their body, and from there reconnect with themselves in a more honest way.
Sometimes I describe what I do as a kind of “one stop shop” for healing, not in a packaged or quick-fix way, but because I bring together different modalities that support each other. The horses, the energy work, and the intuitive guidance all meet the person from slightly different angles, and together they create a deeper, more complete experience.
What makes this work special is how the horses respond. They are incredibly sensitive to subtle shifts: breath, tension, presence, and they react in real time. So instead of talking about what’s going on, people get to experience it directly. That’s often where something real can shift.
Reiki and intuitive guidance support that process by helping the body settle and bringing awareness to what’s already there. It’s not about adding something new, but about allowing space for what’s underneath to come forward.
What excites me the most is seeing how quickly people can come back to themselves when they’re given that kind of space. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
Right now, I’m focused on growing my in-person work in Los Angeles through private sessions and small group experiences, as well as offering workshops centered around connection, either with yourself or with someone you come with.
I’m also developing more immersive experiences and retreats, where people can step away from their everyday environment and go deeper into the work over a few days.
At the core of it, everything I do is about creating a space where people can return to themselves and feel more at home in their own body. And that’s something I care deeply about.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, there are three things that have shaped my journey the most.
The first is learning how to trust what I feel, even before I can explain it.
A lot of this work doesn’t come with a clear structure in the beginning. When I started getting intuitive hits in sessions, it would have been easy to question it or push it aside. Instead, I chose to stay with it. To get curious rather than dismiss it. Over time, that built a deeper kind of trust.
My advice here is to not rush to label or understand everything right away. If something keeps showing up, there’s usually a reason. Give it space and see where it leads.
The second is the ability to stay present.
It sounds simple, but it’s not always easy. Especially when you’re working with people, or building something new, there’s a tendency to get ahead of yourself or try to control the outcome. The horses taught me very quickly that presence is everything. They respond to what is happening right now, not what you’re planning or thinking about.
Learning to come back to the moment, again and again, has been essential, both in my work and in my life.
The third is being willing to build something that doesn’t already exist.
There wasn’t a clear path for combining horses, Reiki, and intuitive guidance in the way I do it. I had to trust that it could take shape over time. That meant being okay with not having all the answers, and still moving forward.
For anyone early in their journey, I would say: you don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. Start with what feels true, stay consistent, and let it evolve. Clarity tends to come from doing, not from waiting.
These three things: trust, presence, and willingness to step into something new, have been the foundation for everything I’ve built so far.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always open to collaborations that feel aligned and real.
For me, it’s less about a specific title or industry, and more about the person. I’m drawn to people who are doing their work with intention, whether that’s in wellness, movement, therapy, creative fields, or even high-performance spaces where there’s a lot of pressure and not always space to slow down.
I love collaborating with people who understand the value of presence and are curious about working in a more embodied way. That could look like co-hosting workshops, creating small group experiences, or building something more immersive over a few days.
I also enjoy working with other practitioners who bring a different perspective into the space. When it’s done right, it adds depth without overcomplicating things.
