Meet Froswa Booker

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Froswa Booker. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Froswa below.

Froswa, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
When I was a kid, I aspired to become a doctor because I wanted to help people. I considered various career options, but I kept coming back to professions where I could positively impact others’ lives. I started working in the nonprofit sector since it allowed me to make a meaningful contribution to my community alongside others. At that time, I wasn’t entirely sure where my career was headed, but I kept pursuing my education, trying new things, and networking with people who could guide me. Ultimately, I realized that my purpose was to empower others by building relationships and providing resources. I’m a connector, and this manifests through my work, writing, teaching, coaching, and consulting. My purpose has evolved as I’ve leveraged all my experiences and education, but the common thread has always been relationships.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the Founder and President of Soulstice Consultancy. As the leader of this company, I offer coaching, advising, and training for leaders. I also help organizations develop their social capital, both internal and external, as well as their organizational culture. My goal is to empower these organizations to have a positive impact on their communities. To do this, I assist in creating strategies for community engagement and philanthropic giving.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
In retrospect, being open and constantly acquiring knowledge have been hugely beneficial. At times, people talk excessively just to flaunt their knowledge. I’ve come to realize that no matter how knowledgeable I believed myself to be, there was always more I could learn. If I surrounded myself with wise counsel, I could glean invaluable lessons from others. Cultivating relationships has been indispensable in my life. Connecting with kindred spirits comes easily since it’s comfortable. But it’s imperative to also befriend those unlike yourself, as doing so expands your knowledge base and network. I’ve deliberately ensured my inner circle comprises both younger and older individuals because both can impart insight and a different perspective.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents instilled in me two extremely impactful lessons: my spiritual beliefs and the importance of serving others. Without the moral foundation provided by my faith, I would lack the ethical compass that has guided me through life. I was raised going to church and although it was imperfect, I learned so much about God’s power. My spirituality has sustained me through both trials and celebrations. I can’t envision navigating life without it. My faith has been integral to my personal growth, love for others, and motivation to be my best self based on how God sees me. My parents also modeled the significance of service. I watched them help people through volunteering their time, sharing their talents, and offering resources. I had no idea this would affect me the way it did. Since childhood, I have wanted to positively impact others’ lives. My parents led by example with their many acts of kindness.
