Meet Furaha Sadi

We were lucky to catch up with Furaha Sadi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Furaha , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I developed my resilience from watching my parents work tirelessly to provide a life for us that they didn’t have. Their strength and determination showed me the value of hard work and perseverance. From a young age, I’ve been driven by a desire to give them the rest and comfort they deserve.

At the same time, I’ve never been content with the idea of settling for an average life. Why aim for the ordinary when extraordinary opportunities exist? That mindset pushes me to dream big and pursue what feels impossible, goals that 99.9% of people might shy away from because they seem too difficult.

My resilience comes from a combination of my parents’ example, my unwavering desire to give back to my family, and the clear vision I have for the life I’m determined to create. These are the sources of my strength and motivation to keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a Congolese singer, songwriter, and producer, creating a unique genre I call Congo Jazz Pop; a blend of Pop infused with Jazz influences and my rich Congolese roots. Music is the essence of my being; it’s how my soul breathes, and I truly can’t imagine life without it.

A few months ago, I released my debut single, “Make Her Proud”, marking the start of an incredible journey. In 2025, I’ll be releasing more songs, each one is a piece of my story and a reflection of our society.

I’m deeply grateful for the incredible community growing alongside me on this journey. 2025 is our year to bloom, just like a butterfly; a symbol of transformation, beauty, and resilience, values that inspire my life.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Self-discipline is one of the most impactful qualities anyone can develop, regardless of industry. It leaves no room for laziness or overthinking and fosters self-respect, which leads to self-love, high self-esteem, confidence, and so many other incredible qualities. I truly believe everyone should work on building self-discipline.

As an artist and producer, music theory has been essential for my growth. It makes many aspects of music production much easier.

My two key pieces of advice for anyone early in their journey are:

– Stop worrying about others’ opinions and live your life authentically. Be who you want to be without shame or doubt. Trust yourself completely and move forward with confidence.
– Stay humble. You can’t know or do everything, and being open to learning from others is essential for growth.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

One of my current challenges is growing my community while balancing my 9-to-5 job with my music career. Additionally, I’m looking for passionate and like-minded individuals to join me in building a team that can help navigate this journey together. I understand these things take time, so I’m approaching it with patience and determination.
