We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gabi Palombini. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gabi below.
Hi Gabi, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?
“You are the strategist of your own success.” This was the phrase I used in my last speech (the event in the photos where the girls are wearing green), and I believe it perfectly sums up where my self-discipline comes from.
My discipline comes from the awareness that I am happiest when I cultivate healthy habits. And to achieve success in any area of my life, I know it all depends on me.
Success is personal. For some, it may be tied to a financial goal; for others, to physical health or even the desire to have more free time for family and friends. It evolves depending on the stage of life, goals, and priorities. Success can be both professional and personal.
But one thing is for sure: success only happens when you understand that no one will do it for you. You need to be the strategist of your own journey – define your priorities, put them on paper, and recognize what truly makes sense for you at this moment.
Having clarity about what you want is the first step toward understanding your “whys” and strengthening your self-discipline. Reminding yourself daily of your reasons, tracking your progress, and recognizing your evolution not only boosts your self-esteem but also reinforces that consistency and discipline are what will take you where you want to go.
So, in summary, my self-discipline comes from being fully aware of where I want to go and what I need to do daily to achieve success in what I have set out to accomplish.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am constantly evolving, and so is my business.
Today, I organize events focused on helping women improve their careers. These events cover topics such as digital marketing, entrepreneurship, organizational routines, and business management. For each event, I conduct research to understand my audience and identify what they want to learn from my knowledge.
I also create content for brands on Instagram (@agabipalombini). For example, I work with clothing stores that need creative content, dental clinics, lingerie brands, shoe stores – basically any business with a product I can create content for. The focus of my content is my followers on Instagram. I know what they like, and I know how to connect the brands that hire me with my own personality, which leads to significant results.
I have my own product, an organizational planner. This is my fifth version, and I started it in 2020. I still believe that without planning and organization, success in life is impossible.
One of the things I am most passionate about is launching campaigns. So, let’s say you have a company and you want to create a new product – I can help with that. I’ve been involved in product creation since 2020, so I conduct market research to understand the target audience. I develop the entire concept of the product, including its look and benefits. After that, I handle the entire launch campaign, including strategy and storytelling. I would say this is what I love most to do. I’ve done it for myself and have already helped many companies with their launches.
So, if you know someone who wants to launch a product campaign, I’m here to help. If you know someone who owns a company and wants to create a new product, I can assist with that too.
Lastly, I’m creating content on my Instagram @agabipalombini, including a new series called “Papo de Gabi” (which means “Gabi’s Chat”). My goal is to allow more people to understand who I am, how I think, and to open up healthy conversations in the virtual world. I believe we can make the world a better place through communication and respect.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Here are the most important qualities and skills, in my opinion:
1. Curiosity
2. Mental and Structural Organization
3. Resilience
1. Curiosity
The more curious you are, the more experiences you gain. I’m 27 years old, and when I talk to people, I realize that I’ve done a lot in my life and know about topics that many people don’t. Why? Because I’m a very curious person.
I used to think everyone was like me. They say human beings are naturally egocentric, right? Well, that’s a great example – assuming that others think the same way you do. But they don’t.
I thought everyone liked to step outside their bubble, researching topics like racism, homophobia, male privilege, the struggles women have faced throughout history, sex, science, scientific research, the side effects of cell phones, different types of drugs, and even the impact of pornography. And guess what? I recently discovered that most people don’t.
Another great thing curiosity gives you is indirect experience. Talking to people and genuinely being curious is incredibly valuable. I’ve learned so much from other people’s experiences – things I haven’t personally lived through but know can happen because they’ve happened to others. And I think that’s beautiful. By learning from others’ experiences, I gain insight. If I ever face something similar, I’ll already be aware of different possibilities and be better prepared to handle the situation.
So my advice is: be curious. Live in the present, ask questions, research more, talk to people.
2. Mental and Structural Organization
Without organization, you can feel completely lost. First of all, having a routine is essential for every human being. A well-structured routine can help reduce anxiety and stress.
But before organizing your daily tasks, you need to start with mental organization. This can begin with therapy, which helps you evolve in many ways. It can also be as simple as writing down your thoughts to better understand yourself—your emotions, your struggles, your wins. Mental organization is the foundation of any process.
This directly impacts your goals. What do you want to achieve? Where do you want to go? Being organized means being aware of what you truly want.
3. Resilience
I am an independent entrepreneur, and if you are like me, you will face many challenges. I always say that being an entrepreneur means being born to solve problems.
And guess what? I love solving them. Whenever I encounter a challenge, I focus on finding solutions rather than dwelling on the issue. This mindset helps me not only in business but also in my personal relationships.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
“Women Who Run with the Wolves”
This is the best book I have ever read, and I recommend it to every woman. It’s a book that truly gives you wisdom in the deepest sense of the word. As women, we go through very specific and similar processes, even though we are all different.
Through this book, I learned to have more compassion for the way my mother raised me. I truly understood what abusive relationships are – and that I had been in one. Many times, we think red flags are obvious, but they aren’t.
One of the most interesting things about this book, from what I’ve discussed with other women who have read it, is that each chapter tells a different story, and every woman interprets it in her own way. Yet, no matter how you read it, it’s a book that imparts wisdom for a lifetime. It’s one of those books that, depending on the phase of life you’re in, will reveal new truths about yourself.
It freed me in so many ways – even in terms of sexuality, self-esteem, and realizing how important female friendships are for us as women.
This book brings wisdom to every aspect of your feminine world. It’s truly worth reading.
