Meet Gabriela

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gabriela a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Gabriela with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic comes from my parents, who immigrated from Bolivia as teenagers and built a life from the ground up through sheer determination and hustle. I grew up watching them outwork every challenge—my dad delivering mail for over 25 years, my mom running her own cleaning business for three decades—without shortcuts, safety nets, or recognition. They taught me that it’s not about the job you have, but the pride and consistency you bring to it. That mindset has shaped how I lead: with integrity, preparation, and zero entitlement.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m Gabriela Gironas (they/them), and everything I do is about shifting power back into the hands of creators, communities, and people building things that matter. I’m the Founder of Cool Shit, Cool People, a consulting agency for artists, startups, and civic innovators who are rewriting the rules in music, tech, and culture. We don’t just consult. We co-create, helping our clients launch bold ideas, grow movements, and build lasting impact.

I also lead global creator strategy at Wasserman, where I’ve worked on campaigns for brands like Taco Bell and Google Play. My focus is always the same: make sure creators are seen not as content machines, but as cultural leaders. People who deserve ownership in the stories they’re telling.

At CS,CP, we’re building something bigger than a typical agency. We work with artists, platforms, and organizations that want to move with intention. Whether that means scaling a fanbase from zero to millions, launching a new product, or growing community around a mission. We offer support across creator strategy, content, business development, and project management. The work always changes, but the purpose doesn’t. We help people do cool shit that actually matters.

Outside of work, I’m equally committed to systems change. I serve on the LA County Governance Reform Task Force, where I help reimagine how local government can better serve more than 10 million people. I’m also Governor of the Recording Academy’s LA Chapter and a board member for Keychange U.S. and Industry In Spanglish. Through my role as Global Chair of Diversity, Inclusion and Community at Women In Music, I’m working to expand access and equity across every level of the industry.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three things that shaped my journey most are self-advocacy, emotional intelligence, and storytelling. Learning to advocate for myself was key. I didn’t have a traditional path or built-in network, so I had to speak up, claim space, and be clear about my value. Emotional intelligence came from years of working across creative and civic spaces. It taught me that trust, timing, and empathy are often more powerful than titles. And storytelling has been the thread through everything. Whether I’m launching a campaign or shaping policy, it’s how I move people and ideas forward.

For anyone early in their journey: speak up even when it’s uncomfortable, listen with intention, and practice telling stories that actually mean something. The rest will come with time.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I’m always looking to collaborate with artists who see their work not just as creative output, but as a business and a legacy. I’m especially excited to work with talent who are building something long-term—people who have a vision and just need the right partner to help bring it to life. Whether you’re an emerging artist or further along in your career, if you’re thinking strategically about growth, community, and creative impact, I want to hear from you.

I bring a mix of strategy, execution, and heart to every project, and I love helping artists build ecosystems around their work. If that sounds like the kind of partner you’re looking for, reach out at [email protected] or DM me on Instagram at @gabrielagironas. Let’s build something that lasts.
