Meet Gabriela Espinoza

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gabriela Espinoza. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gabriela below.

Gabriela, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I don’t always find it. And I think it can look and feel different sometimes. It is a daily hunt. We only have the present after all.

For me, I almost always find it when I dance. Lately, I have learned to appreciate movement a lot more by taking care of an injury. This has forced me to understand that our well-being is so precious. It’s like when you are sick and think about the times you were not sick and miss those times. So by prioritizing my health and valuing my time, I can give more. Which I think is one of our biggest purpose in this floating rock. I can give time and care to my loved ones and I can give my knowledge and energy to my dance class. Finding ways to share my gifts with love is how I find my purpose.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I teach Sensazao (pronounced sen-suh-zow) classes. I co-created the program with my sister because we couldn’t find a cardio dance class that was authentic to the different Latin rhythms and that fast enough to keep it challenging. So we kept the essence of party style Latin rhythms, focusing on Brazilian beats, and added the option to make it high-intensity here and there. That way when you take our dance class it will always feel like you can learn something new while getting a great cardio workout.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

When they say “do what you love and you won’t work a day in your life” I think it’s BS. There’s always work I don;’t think that’s going away. But when you realize that you get to do what your love and you feel fulfilled, work doesn’t seem so bad. So the three qualities that help me are:

Do what you love.
Keep it real.
Do the work.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! We are looking for awesome people that want to join our crew. If you love to dance and want to connect with people through a sweaty sesh, inspire them, teach them the joy of twerking among other dance moves, then please reach out! Send me an email and I will share all the information you need. Gsensazao@gmail.com
