Meet Gabriela Mafra

We recently connected with Gabriela Mafra and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriela, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

I’m always thinking that if I don’t trust myself or prioritize myself nobody else will. I’m responsible for what people will think about me and how they will see me, so if I’m not confident about who I am how can I show the world how good I can be? Being self-confident makes life smoother because we can do everything if we believe it. I try to reach my best version everyday so I’m proud of myself when I look at the mirror. In that way the people I love will be proud too.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a lifestyle content creator who loves to share good energy with my followers. I’m a runner, who tries to live a healthy lifestyle and makes healthy choices, but also who wants to live life at its maximum and be happy above all of the things. That includes eating chocolate sometimes! I’m also an entrepreneur. My husband and I have a pet care business and we love to always have dogs around. I share with my followers my daily life, including my health habits, my running routine, my schedule with the dogs and my trips – I also love to travel. I’m a New Yorker so I share my agitated lifestyle in my favorite city!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

First adaptability and open-mindedness, the ability to adapt to change and stay open to new ideas. Whether it was exploring new platforms, pivoting strategies, or embracing trends, this mindset helped me stay relevant and resilient. Then consistency and discipline. Even when motivation waned, consistency built trust and credibility in my work. Discipline turned inspiration into sustainable habits, which created long-term momentum. And las but not least storytelling and communication. Crafting authentic narratives and connecting with my audience was key. It’s not just about what you share, but how you share it that makes an impact.

My advice is to cultivate curiosity and a willingness to learn. Surround yourself with diverse perspectives, and don’t shy away from stepping out of your comfort zone—it’s often where growth happens. Set realistic goals and stick to them. Build routines that support your progress and celebrate small wins to maintain your momentum over time. Also practice storytelling by sharing your experiences and listening to others. Invest time in improving your communication skills through feedback, courses, or mentorship. The better you understand your audience, the stronger your connection will be.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

They let me go. The raised me for the world and they understood when was my time to fly. They helped me to build my self-confidence and to fight to make my dreams come true, but they also thought me how to be ready for the obstacles of the world and to overcome them. When the opportunity to move to New York and start a new life outside of my country and far from them, they were the first ones to support my decision and to encourage me.
