Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gabriella. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Gabriella, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose by slowing down, listening to the Universe and my intuition, and ignoring my ego. When you find the thing that is your purpose, you will enjoy doing the work, no matter how hard it is because it is rooted in the truth of what your soul wants. Pursuing your purpose feels good and right. Things will naturally unfold for you when you are living your purpose because your pursuit will be supported by the Universe.
I learned this by pushing way too hard to pursue something that wasn’t my purpose. I had studied to be an actor since I was 4. I was a COVID college grad 2020, but as soon as that started to settle, I was having rapid success on the acting front. Then I was hit by car, 16 surgeries (brain surgery), coma – all that not fun stuff. For too long, all I wanted to do was be an actor again, press resume, and pick my life right back up where I left it, However, nothing was working.
No matter what I tried as it pertained to acting, it didn’t work. Even things that were almost guaranteed to work, didn’t work for me. Relationships fell apart. All the advice I was given from reputable sources didn’t work for me and it seemed this life simply wasn’t a fit anymore, but I desperately wanted it to be. I took a break partially because I was forced to (2023 SAG strike) and I had the time to slow down and really start to listen to myself.
I, obviously, had changed a lot since my accident, I had an entire new brain.I basically wasn’t the same person anymore. Why as I trying so desperately to make her fit into the goals and life that were designed for another person? On my break, I got really into writing my book and it felt…good, better than acting had felt since I had gotten hurt. I also began to get brilliant ideas for a potential podcast, because I was listening and my intuition was almost screaming them at me.
When the strike ended, I started to notice that I was resistant to going back to acting. Every time my agent sent me auditions I would be annoyed because it took away time from working on my book and podcast. But I didn’t want to drop my agent or stop acting because of my ego. I was so concerned with what other people would think. They would think that I couldn’t do it and I could do it, I just didn’t want to anymore.
My life coach asked me what I personally would think if I had my story and still prioritized acting above everything else. I realized that I would actually be pretty embarrassed if I had lived through what I lived through and still only wanted to pursue the same goals.
So, I dropped my agent so I could prioritize my book and theoretical podcast and, sure enough, almost instantly I walked into a happenstance situation where I received a podcast studio and editor. The process of releasing my podcast has required a lot of work on my part, it is no easy feet, but it’s work I enjoy doing. Opportunities seem to continually be falling into my lap. As a newbie podcast, I’ve already been written up in multiple publications and have my first episode with a celebrity guest this season. Without trying, I am routinely meet people who offer connections. Whereas with my prior career endeavors, I kept hitting walls and nothing ever seemed to go my way, things are going my way pretty consistently in regards to my podcast and book. For these reasons, I know this is what the Universe wants me to be doing.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My podcast seeks to support all trauma survivors (which is everyone because life is trauma), rep the brain injury community, and teach all the spiritual lessons I have learned. 2.5 years of surgeries teaches you a thing or two.. Life will always have inevitable hardships – how do we navigate them as smoothly as possible? Trauma can be extremely isolating – I would know – and my podcast aims to bring a community to people who need it. I want to be the voice for others that I needed when I was going through the worst of the worst. ..but don’t worry, there’s a loooooottt of humorous content, it’s not sad or too serious. I literally have an entire episode about spiritual lessons I learned from my boobs.
Season 2 of my podcast just premiered which is incredibly exciting! If you would like to know about me & my story, I walk you through absolutely everything in Season 1, Episode 2. I release new episodes every Tuesday. On my instagram, you can see sneak peaks of my book.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Trust your intuition, ignore your ego. Your ego cares too much about the opinions of others, your intuition only cares about your own opinions and own self.
Do what makes you feel good. Energy is exponential. If you focus on positive energy, more will grow, but the same works vice versa. If you focus on negative energy, more of that will grow too…
It’s happening on the Universe’s timeline, not your personal timeline. It doesn’t matter how badly you want something by a specific deadline. If it doesn’t fit into the Universe’s plan to happen by the deadline you personally have set, it either won’t happen at all or will happen in an excruciatingly painful, tiresome way, that makes you kind’ve miserable. Don’t force anything. It will all unfold as it’s meant to unfold. The Universe never says ‘no;’ it only says ‘not yet’ or ‘I have something better in store.’

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I’m always looking for podcast guests or for people to feature me as a guest on their own podcast.
I do plan on getting into motivational speaking as well, so if anyone needs a motivational speaker about anything spiritual, mental & physical trauma, healing, resilience, brain injury, recovery, fitness (especially fitness as it pertains to mental health and brain recovery), emotional wellbeing etc. hit me up.
And the book is almost done, so any editors or potential publishers or just any help would be very very appreciated.
