We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gabrielle Radow. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gabrielle below.
Gabrielle , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I’ve always been an extremely hard worker. My passion comes from loving what I do. If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life right? I work best under pressure when I’m in stressful or overwhelming scenarios. It lights a fire under me to keep pushing forward. I want to be able to live the life I’ve dreamed of in terms of being financially stable and comfortable as well as being able to provide ad be able to do the things I love doing like travel, shop and self-care.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have been in the hospitality. industry for many years. I have waitressed, served, been a barista, and I currently bartend. I have been a bartender for two years. The best part of working in the hospitality industry is meeting people every day, making connections, and building regulars who have become friends and family,
I have always loved decorating. I always decorated my dorm in college and I loved decorating my own apartment once I had one. I love decorating for the four seasons and the holidays. I am a huge sucker for home decor and the trends.
I am trying to grow my brand and do more luxurious events. I would love to decor for a wedding. Currently I am trying to get the word out and work my way up. Networking and making connections has been amazing and has definitely helped me grow. My dream is to make this business my full time job.
I love creating beautiful setups for once in a lifetime moments, such as proposals, and being an important part of the bridal journey, setting up picnics for bridesmaid proposals and bachelorettes. Memories that will last a lifetime.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The skills that have been most impactful in my journey have been the skills I’ve acquired during my time in the hospitality industry, past and present. I know that it is incredibly important to make clients’ experiences luxurious and memorable. I love talking to people and making new connections. Loving what you do is also very important. If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life, and that has been true for me. I have always been an extremely hard working and passionate person. My passion for decor and special events has been a driving force in the existence and growth of my business. Even if you get knocked down you should pick yourself back up and keep pushing forward.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
I am currently facing what we call “slow season.” We were incredibly busy with picnics this summer, booked every weekend. I am trying to push tablescapes, indoor picnics, heated igloo picnics, and holiday parties. I am collaborating with a few other small businesses, one of which I am offering to do decor for private cocktail classes, as well as other ticketed events. with several other small businesses. We did a vintage charm making class event with my sisters business and another friend’s business that went so well. It exceeded expectations and all the attendees had such a great time. I want business to be booming year round and that is one of my goals as time goes on. Reaching out to other businesses and pitching ideas is something I am currently doing to branch out,
