Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to GÄDES. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

GÄDES, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

I don’t think I necessarily “found” it I believe I was born in alignment with it or that it found me if that makes sense
I always had a love for dancing, entertainment and music
I even used to take my moms radio and Janet Jackson CD’s and sleep with it near my head at night I couldn’t sleep without it

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m incorporating more of my other artistic interests into my music and visuals, it’s going to be something the world has never seen and THAT is what makes me most excited.

I have an EP coming out very soon called
Stars In The Attic
it’s really a story..an experience for the listener not just a bundle of songs
I really can’t wait for people to hear this I hope they fall in love with it the same way I have!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Conquering fear has been the biggest lesson for me.
I think it was the root of my on and off self doubt, anxiety and perfectionism.
I’m still a perfectionist but I don’t use it as an excuse to delay releasing my art to the world anymore
So if I could give anyone advice in any creative field it would be to conquer your fears, fall in love with the process. detach your mind from the expectations of other and outcomes and just fucking do it
You won’t regret it

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

I’ve learned to transmute my traumas, pain and negative thoughts into art
And I mean that in the most literal way
I used to be like “oh no what if this person hears this what if it’s to raunchy or what if someone doesn’t like this photo” blah blah blah lol
I use it to push my artistic expression even further
