We were lucky to catch up with Gail Turner-Cooper recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gail, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
For a long time, I was working in the corporate world—doing what I thought I should be doing. It gave me structure and a solid foundation, and I’m thankful for everything I learned during that time. But deep down, I always felt like something was missing. I couldn’t shake this feeling that I wasn’t doing the work I was meant to do.
As I started focusing more on my own health and healing, I became fascinated by functional medicine, energy work, and the mind-body connection. The more I learned, the more I felt drawn to it—not just for my growth, but because I wanted to help others find the same kind of transformation.
That’s when things began to shift. Coaching, Reiki, and spiritual guidance all came together naturally, and for the first time, I felt truly aligned. This work lights me up in a way nothing else ever has. It’s not about fixing people—it’s about walking with them as they reconnect to their health, power, and purpose. And that’s what I love most about what I do.
There was a point in my corporate career when I started to feel a deep sense of misalignment. On the outside, everything looked fine—but inside, I was exhausted, stressed, and disconnected. I knew I couldn’t keep pushing through just because it was “what I was supposed to do.” So I started looking inward and asking some hard questions: What do I need to feel well? What would it look like to feel truly fulfilled?
That questioning led me down a personal path of healing. I dove into functional medicine, holistic nutrition, energy work, and spirituality—not casually, but with intention. I was trying to understand my body, mind, and spirit on a deeper level. And the more I learned, the better I felt. For the first time in a long time, I felt empowered, centered, and truly connected to myself.
That transformation lit a fire in me. It wasn’t just about my healing anymore. I realized that the tools and practices that had helped me so profoundly were exactly what so many others were missing—especially those who felt stuck, overwhelmed, or burned out like I had been.
That’s when I knew: I wanted to change my career. I didn’t want to keep this knowledge to myself—I wanted to use it to support others. I became certified as a Health Coach, Reiki Master, and energy healer, and committed to growing into a role that could hold both science and soul.
Along the way, I had to develop trust—trust in myself, in the process, and in the idea that it’s okay to choose a different path. I also had to cultivate presence, deep listening, and compassion—not just for others, but for myself. These are now the cornerstones of my work with Align Health Coaching.
My journey didn’t happen overnight, and it certainly wasn’t linear. But every step brought me closer to the kind of work that feels deeply meaningful. And now, helping others reconnect to their health, purpose, and inner wisdom isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m Gail—a certified Integrative Health Coach, Reiki Master, spiritual coach, psychic medium, and the heart behind Align Health Coaching. My journey has been one of deep healing and transformation, and it’s now my mission to help others experience that same shift—toward wholeness, purpose, and connection.
I’ve worked with clients navigating everything from weight loss and hormone imbalances to grief, spiritual awakening, and intuitive development. My work is deeply personalized and rooted in the belief that we are all capable of healing when we are given the tools and support to do so.
At Align Health Coaching, you’ll find a unique blend of holistic wellness services and spiritual guidance designed to meet you exactly where you are.
If you’re seeking to improve your physical health, we’ll work together to support key areas like nutrition, digestion, energy, sleep, and stress. My training in integrative and functional medicine health coaching allows me to offer customized wellness plans that address the root causes of dis-ease—not just the symptoms.
If you’re seeking to explore deeper emotional or spiritual layers, I offer one-on-one spiritual coaching sessions to help you reconnect with your intuition, navigate life transitions, or find clarity for your soul’s path.
For those looking for energ healing, Reiki sessions provide gentle yet powerful support to release blockages, realign your energy system, and restore inner peace. These sessions can be especially helpful for those dealing with anxiety, emotional heaviness, or burnout.
I also offer intuitive readings and mediumship sessions, bringing through messages of guidance, clarity, and connection from your higher self or loved ones in spirit. My work as a psychic medium is grounded in compassion, integrity, and the deep belief that we are never truly alone.
For those curious about developing their own intuitive gifts, I offer mentorship and development sessions focused on psychic awareness and mediumship. Whether you’re just starting to sense your abilities or looking to deepen your connection, I provide grounded, supportive guidance to help you grow
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, three things stand out as essential in my journey: self-awareness, trust your intuition, and a willingness to keep learning.
Self-awareness was the foundation. Everything shifted for me when I began tuning in to what my body and mind were trying to tell me—when I stopped pushing through burnout and started asking, What do I really need? That awareness guided every decision from that point forward. For anyone early in their journey, I recommend carving out quiet time regularly—journaling, meditating, or even just taking mindful walks. The more we slow down and listen, the more clarity we find.
Trusting my intuition was equally important. There were moments when the next step didn’t make logical sense on paper—like leaving a steady corporate job—but I felt a strong inner pull that I couldn’t ignore. Learning to trust that quiet voice inside, even when it’s scary, is a muscle we build over time. My advice? Start with small decisions. Listen to how your body responds. Your intuition is always speaking—you just have to give it space.
Lifelong learning has been the through-line of my growth. Becoming certified as a health coach, diving into Reiki, exploring spiritual coaching—none of that happened by accident. I followed my curiosity, and I was willing to be a beginner again and again. For anyone just starting out: stay open. You don’t have to have it all figured out right away. Be a student of your own life, and trust that the pieces will come together as you move forward.
Ultimately, this work—whether it’s personal growth or a career in healing—isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about showing up with presence, integrity, and a deep commitment to your own evolution. When you do that, you naturally begin to help others do the same.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is ready to take an active role in their healing. Whether they come to me for functional medicine health coaching, energy work, or a more holistic blend, what matters is their willingness to show up and do the work. I’m not here to “fix” anyone—I’m here to guide and support them as they learn to listen to their body, trust themselves, and make meaningful, sustainable changes.
That sense of ownership is everything. When someone really commits to their own process, the shifts go deeper and last longer. It’s not about following a list of recommendations—it’s about reconnecting to themselves, learning what works for their body, and making choices that feel aligned. And often, when that happens, something powerful unfolds: they begin to fall back in love with themselves. That’s what true healing looks like to me.
I work with people in all stages of their journey. Some are deeply interested in exploring emotional and spiritual healing, and some are more focused on physical health goals—like balancing blood sugar, improving digestion, or managing stress. All are welcome. What matters most is that they’re open, curious, and willing to take that first step toward change.
At the core, the people I work best with are those who are ready to invest in themselves. They may not know exactly what they need at first, and that’s okay. As long as they’re willing to show up, ask questions, and stay engaged, we can create something really meaningful together.
