Meet Galina Slavova

We recently connected with Galina Slavova and have shared our conversation below.

Galina, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my years of playing judo and traveling solo to over 35 countries. Judo instilled in me the discipline and dedication required to excel, both on and off the mat. Traveling alone taught me self-reliance and the importance of punctuality. I always say, “If you are on time, you are late,” because being prepared and ahead of schedule has been crucial to my success. These experiences have shaped my strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in everything I do.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a passionate advocate for breast cancer awareness and support. As a breast cancer survivor, I know firsthand the challenges and triumphs that come with this journey. One of the most exciting and special aspects of my work is the recent launch of my non-profit, Blossoming Beyond Foundation. This foundation aims to provide free therapy to cancer patients and survivors, addressing a critical need for emotional and psychological support during and after treatment.
In addition to the foundation, I am also producing a documentary film about breast cancer survivors. This film will delve into their inspiring journeys, highlighting their resilience and the power of community. Through personal stories and expert insights, we aim to foster a sense of hope and solidarity among those affected by breast cancer.
What excites me the most about these projects is the potential to make a real difference in people’s lives. By offering free therapy and sharing powerful survivor stories, we hope to create a supportive network that helps individuals navigate their cancer journey with strength and optimism.

Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming events, product launches, and expansion plans as we continue to grow and reach more people in need.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are determination, seeing “no” as a new opportunity, and discipline.
Firstly, determination has been crucial. As a breast cancer survivor and someone who has faced numerous challenges, my unwavering resolve has driven me to overcome obstacles and achieve my goals. For those early in their journey, I advise cultivating a strong sense of purpose and staying focused on your goals, no matter how difficult the path may seem.
Secondly, I firmly believe that “no” means a new opportunity. Throughout my experiences, especially in competitive sports like judo and in my career, I’ve learned that rejection is not the end but rather a chance to find a different path or a better solution. My advice is to reframe setbacks and use them as stepping stones to explore new possibilities and innovate.
Lastly, discipline has been a cornerstone of my success. Years of training in judo, where punctuality and rigorous practice are paramount, have instilled in me a strong work ethic. For those starting out, I recommend establishing a routine, setting clear goals, and maintaining consistency in your efforts. Discipline will help you stay on track and make steady progress.

Incorporating these qualities into your life can significantly impact your journey. Stay determined, view challenges as opportunities, and maintain discipline to navigate your path to success.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
