Garret, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

I thrive by focusing on my kids—as a single parent of three my kids are a constant source of inspiration of why I strive forward with unwavering passion. When others say I can’t, I transform that doubt into unrelenting determination, knowing that their unshakeable belief in me and my unyielding drive to create a brighter future for them is all the motivation I need to prove that anything is attainable and prove the haters and nay-sayers wrong!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I embarked on a thrilling journey last year, leaving my corporate job to pursue my passion and launch my own business. I am the proud owner of Davis concierge’s, a cleaning service that takes immense pride in its meticulous attention to detail for high-end residential properties in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We have had the privilege of serving a distinguished clientele, including celebrities, college coaching staff, and medical professionals, in multimillion-dollar homes. What’s most exciting is our unwavering commitment to excellence and our dedication to paying close attention to detail, where we also offer organizing projects for homes to help run and manage events along with car detailing! A significant number of our clients come to us through word of mouth, which is always a testament to our hard work and a reflection of the trust and respect people have for our brand. This is now driving our expansion into the commercial sector, as we launch specialized cleaning services for commercial properties with flexible scheduling, from weekly, bi-weekly to deep cleans, across Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas. Our passion for delivering exceptional service and personalized care continues to set us apart and inspire us to new heights.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey with Davis Concierge have been meticulous attention to detail, unwavering perseverance, and outstanding customer service. Paying close attention to every minute element has ensured our work consistently surpasses client expectations. Perseverance has enabled me to navigate challenges and persist, while a genuine commitment to customer service has fostered lasting trust with our high-end clients. For those just starting out, I recommend refining these skills by consistently striving for excellence, approaching challenges as opportunities for growth, and prioritizing your clients’ needs above all else.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My parents empowered me with the mindset to pursue everything with excellence, to never be satisfied with just being average, they inspired me to recognize that if something were effortless, everyone would achieve it, so take immense pride in your accomplishments, push through obstacles, and remain dedicated, for even in your setbacks, there is a valuable lesson, and as long as you stay focused, persevere, and remain humble, everything will ultimately fall into place. My mom always told me “everything happens for a reason even if you don’t know what the reason is at the time and if you stay patient, it will all work out at the end!” A philosophy that continues to guide me to this day.
