We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gena Myint. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gena below.
Hi Gena , so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
My ability to take risks developed gradually through a combination of personal and professional experiences. Early in my career, I learned that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone. Whether it was launching my own business or experimenting with new designs, each decision involved a level of uncertainty. Over time, I realized that calculated risks, backed by research and intuition, were essential for innovation and success. I’ve also embraced the idea that failure is part of the process. It’s not something to fear, but a valuable learning opportunity. This mindset has helped me take risks with more confidence and resilience.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a jewelry designer and the owner of Gena Myint, creating unique, handcrafted pieces inspired by people and my travels. What I love most about my work is turning ideas into meaningful pieces that resonate with people. Whether it’s a custom design or something from my collection, every piece tells a story and connects on a personal level.
I’m really excited to share that we’re hosting Charm Bar parties soon, where clients can create their own custom charm bracelets or necklaces. It’s a fun, interactive way to design something unique and celebrate special moments with friends.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say creativity, perseverance, and building relationships were key. Creativity keeps things exciting, and I’ve learned to find inspiration everywhere. Whether it’s travel or the people I meet. Perseverance helped me push through the tough moments, and I’d tell anyone starting out to stay patient and keep going. Finally, building relationships has been huge. Genuine connections, whether with clients or collaborators, make the work more meaningful and fun.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and break things down into smaller tasks. It makes everything feel more manageable. I also make time for a quick reset, whether it’s going for a walk, getting fresh air, or even doing something creative like cooking. It helps clear my head and refocus. My advice? Don’t be afraid to slow down and prioritize. You don’t have to do everything at once!
