Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Georgiann Tyrrell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Georgiann, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Oh, man, confidence is a journey, let me tell you. As a kid, I was this bundle of fearless energy, just rocking life without a care. But, you know, adulthood hit, and it hit hard. After college, I found myself in this weird space where I wasn’t really taking care of myself. Confidence? It was on vacation somewhere far, far away.
It’s funny how life works in waves. There were moments when I felt on top of the world, and then there were those days when even making eye contact felt like a major accomplishment. But hey, that’s the journey, right?
So, here’s the scoop on how I pulled myself out of that rut. It’s all about self-love, my friend. I started treating myself right. Five days a week, I did at-home pilates workouts – not to fit into some societal standard, but because it made me feel strong and capable. And let’s not forget slowing down; grace became my new best friend.
Meditation and yoga entered the scene, bringing with them a sense of calm I didn’t know I was missing. Daily reading and journaling became my anchors. But the game-changer? Affirmations. We underestimate the power of the words we say to ourselves. Seriously, a simple shift in self-talk transformed my confidence like nothing else.
It’s been a process, no doubt. Some days I’m still figuring it all out, but that’s the beauty of it. Confidence isn’t a destination; it’s a continuous journey of self-discovery. And let me tell you, embracing that journey has made all the difference.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Absolutely, I’m thrilled to dive into that! So, I’m wearing a couple of hats in the creative realm – graphic design and photography prints. My graphic design business is all about bringing ideas to life visually. It’s this incredible space where I get to blend creativity with functionality. From branding that tells a story to designs that pop, I’m all about creating visuals that resonate.
Now, the photography print selling business, that’s where the soul of my art truly shines. Each print is a captured moment, a piece of my perspective frozen in time. What excites me the most about it is the idea that these prints become a part of someone else’s world. It’s not just about selling a photo; it’s about sharing an emotion, a scene, a story.
What makes my brand unique? I’d say it’s the personal touch. Whether it’s a design project or a photography print, I pour a bit of myself into each piece. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about connecting with people on a deeper level.
As for what’s new and exciting, get ready for a game-changer in the way we connect! I’m thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of my new website, bringing a fresh, dynamic interface that will revolutionize how clients discover and engage with my graphic design services. And that’s not all – brace yourselves for an expanded photography print collection, revealing a theme that’s truly close to my heart. This moment is charged with creative energy, and I’m eagerly anticipating the transformation this new chapter will bring to our journey!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three key pillars have been instrumental: enthusiasm, holistic perspective, and discipline. My boundless enthusiasm has been my fuel, keeping me excited and motivated through every twist and turn. The ability to see the full picture, to understand the broader context, has been crucial. It’s not just about the details; it’s about grasping the entirety of a project or goal.
Discipline, though, takes the crown. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. It’s the backbone of progress, ensuring I don’t stagnate. Discipline propels me to treat myself well, to maintain the momentum in striving for more clients, and ultimately, to continually evolve.
For those at the beginning of their journey, my advice is simple. Cultivate enthusiasm – let it be the force that propels you forward. Develop the skill of seeing beyond the immediate, understanding the larger landscape. And, perhaps most crucially, embrace discipline. It’s the daily grind, the small consistent efforts, that pave the path to success. So, find your passion, broaden your perspective, and instill discipline in your routine – you’ll be amazed at where it takes you.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Feeling overwhelmed used to be my constant companion, a relentless wave I didn’t know how to navigate. Living in a perpetual state of fight or flight was my norm, and stress had a knack for hijacking even the best of days. The game-changer? Well, it turns out, a toolkit of strategies.
Meditation became my sanctuary, a refuge where I could untangle the knots of stress. It’s not all zen and incense, but it sure helps untangle the mess in my head. Embracing slowness became an art – a deliberate act of refusing to rush through life. You must allow yourself enough time to ensure you’re not rushing, set yourself up for success. Taking a moment to talk myself down, fueling my spirit with affirmations like “I do the best I can every day, whatever that best means today” became a daily necessary ritual to keep calm and level headed throughout the day.
Here’s a golden nugget: breaking tasks down. The bigger picture can be a daunting landscape, but when you dissect it into manageable steps, suddenly it’s like putting together a puzzle. It’s a reminder that overwhelming challenges are just a series of achievable tasks.
So, here’s the real talk advice: build your toolkit. Whether it’s embracing the art of slowness, fuel your spirit with affirmations, and break down those tasks. It’s amazing how these simple yet powerful strategies can turn the tide when you’re feeling particularly overwhelmed.
