Meet Georgui Kassaev

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Georgui Kassaev a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Georgui , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome is a common challenge, and while I can’t claim to have completely overcome it, I’ve developed a robust strategy to navigate through its impact. The key for me is grounding myself in facts rather than succumbing to negative self-talk.

When faced with doubts like, “How can you sell a million-dollar commercial property you’ve never handled?” or “Can you handle a full-feature film with only small TV roles under your belt?” I consciously shift my focus to my preparation. For instance, in real estate, I’ve invested over 200 hours in comprehensive education on commercial sales, excelling in an institution recognized for preparing realtors in this specific domain. Although I haven’t sold a million-dollar commercial building yet, this extensive preparation instills confidence in my abilities.

Similarly, in acting, while I may not have starred in full-length movies, I’ve garnered positive feedback from every TV role, with production consistently praising my performance to my agent. These concrete achievements serve as objective measures of my capabilities, providing a solid foundation to counteract any negative self-perception.

In essence, relying on factual achievements helps me build and maintain a positive opinion of my capabilities, even when internal doubts arise. This strategy allows me to move forward confidently, leveraging my accomplishments as tangible evidence of my competence.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Thank you for this opportunity to introduce myself. I’m Georgui Kasaev, and my professional journey spans the dynamic worlds of entertainment, construction, and real estate.

Commencing my career in entertainment, I performed in my family’s circus act, traversing the United States and Canada before settling in Athens, Georgia. While studying at the University of Georgia, I delved into mixed martial arts, achieving professional status without compromising my dedication to captivating audiences.

Transitioning from the fighting arena, I entered the film industry as a stunt performer and actor, contributing to esteemed shows like Stranger Things, MacGyver, Leverage Redemption, and True Lies. Recognizing the need for stability in the film industry, I ventured into construction, co-founding a boutique construction company.

Facing new challenges, I expanded my expertise into real estate investing, obtaining a real estate license. Specializing in residential and commercial properties, particularly fix-and-flip projects, I leverage my construction background to guide clients through repairs and project management. Additionally, my acting background equips me with video production skills, enhancing my ability to market both myself and my clients’ listings.

Pride wells within me for the consistency and discipline that underpin my success across diverse industries. To offer more comprehensive services, I’ve recently incorporated roof sales into my repertoire. Excitingly, just before this interview, I secured my first feature-length movie role, signaling new heights in my acting career.

What sets me apart is not only this diverse skill set but also the genuine passion I bring to helping individuals achieve time freedom through strategic real estate investments. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to the prospect of being your partner in your real estate journey or a valued team member for your film production endeavors.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Reflecting on my journey, three pivotal elements stand out: Discipline, being a positive supporter of others’ dreams, and cultivating a short memory.

Discipline: It forms the bedrock of achievement, as consistent effort is a prerequisite for most endeavors. Without discipline, realizing goals becomes exponentially challenging. To those starting their journey, I strongly advocate for cultivating discipline early on.

Positive Support: Actively championing the dreams and desires of others has been transformative. Witnessing the joy in their faces when I walk into a room not only fuels my sense of purpose but also acts as a powerful antidote to the negative self-talk associated with imposter syndrome. It’s a two-way street — supporting others uplifts both them and oneself.

Short Memory: Acknowledging disappointments and learning from them is crucial. Having a short memory enables me to swiftly move forward, allowing negative experiences to fade into the recesses of my mind. It’s a skill that facilitates resilience and continual progress.

For those embarking on their journey, my foremost advice is to prioritize discipline. The structured effort required to master a martial art, for instance, serves as an unparalleled vehicle for developing both discipline and confidence. It’s an investment that pays dividends across personal and professional realms.

In essence, discipline, positive support, and a short memory constitute a potent trifecta for navigating the complexities of any journey. Cultivating these attributes early on can pave the way for sustained success and personal growth.
