Meet Gerald Cerda

We were lucky to catch up with Gerald Cerda recently and have shared our conversation below.

Gerald, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

It found me if I’m being honest. I always felt connected to my craft for as long as I can remember. Music has always been a constant in my life that has and will always have a tight grip on my entire being. I have also always considered myself to be quite lucky to know what I would do for my entire life even as very young child 4-5 years old I knew I would be doing this my entire life. The beauty is in the lack of expectation I have always had and just an appreciation for the ability to create.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m just a guy from Texas living in this crazy world just like the rest of them. I am fortunate and blessed to have the ability to create worlds and dress them in melody and lyrics. I have spent most of life recording and releasing music, but my favorite part of the entire process is performing live. There are no words to describe the feeling of performing live music with a band, and feeling the energy of the people around you. I have always felt music to be a communal thing and therefore I have a huge love for live music, and when I am not performing myself you’ll catch me at a show in the crowd enjoying everything that live music has to offer. I am currently very excited about ym new single Crash now available on all platforms, It is the first single of an upcoming EP that embodies the feeling of love and lust through metaphorical references to driving or being in a car. My current upcoming shows include “Gore on the Dancefloor” in downtown LA on october 25, and “The Goodown” on November 14 at Knucklehead in hollywood with my Pop Punk Side project NVM, ILY

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Patience, Work ethic, and friendliness. These three qualities and abilities are the most important qualities of humanity in general but in entertainment you must always stay patient and understand that there is room for everyone and the universe has aplan for us all you just have to be open to it.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am always looking for new creatives to work with of all kinds. as I have stated before the entertainment industryshould and has always been communal, it’s all art and we should all be open to creating! So any artist any creative please feel free to reach out, La Local or not!
