Meet Geraldin Ferrer

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Geraldin Ferrer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Geraldin, so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

Sheeshhhh.. this is a deep one.

But here we go.

Sometimes, tuning out the outside noise is hard, but it becomes easier when you stay focused and remember why you do what you do. I’m a very private person, which might seem ironic as a content creator who shares lifestyle and curly hair content. But the truth is, I’m intentional about what I put out there.

When I decided to be open about my journey—working out, losing weight, and undergoing surgery to remove extra skin—it wasn’t an easy decision. I debated whether I should share it on Instagram, wondering what people would say, how they would judge me, and what assumptions they would make—even from my own family. Those thoughts made me question whether I should post at all.

But in the end, my close friends and loved ones reminded me of my purpose. My story has the power to make a difference in someone else’s life. So, despite the negativity, the judgments, and the assumptions, I chose to share. Because if even one person can find inspiration or reassurance through my journey, then it’s worth it. That’s what keeps me going.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

What excites me most about what I do is the ability to create content, try out new products, and find the best next thing in the market. I love sharing my journey—whether it’s about personal growth, mental and physical health, success, or lifestyle it gets fun at times.

Social media has its pros and cons, but one of the most rewarding aspects is the connections I’ve made along the way. It has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with people who have become some of my closest friends. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with brands, work with incredible people, and connect with business owners who inspire me. The experiences and relationships I’ve gained through this journey make it all so special.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The most impactful qualities in my journey have been determination, ambition, and focus.. Determination and ambition push me to keep going, focus keeps me on track.. and I’m going to throw in a 4th, vulnerability. Vulnerability allows me to grow and connect with those around me and those who I engage with on social media in a real way. Creating content isn’t always easy, especially during difficult times, but these qualities help me push through creative ruts and stay open to learning. They’ve shaped my journey and continue to drive me forward, making my content and experiences even more meaningful.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I take a step back and create a plan to manage everything more effectively. If my content workload is piling up, I map out when I’ll film, edit, submit, and post to stay on track. Writing things down, like brain dumping, helps clear my mind and organize my thoughts. Sometimes, I also just need to pause and take a moment for myself. I’ve learned that it’s okay to ask for deadline extensions when necessary—at the end of the day, we’re all human, not machines, and balancing life alongside a full-time career requires flexibility.
