We recently connected with Gia Lacqua and have shared our conversation below.
Gia, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
In 2018, I found myself laying on the floor having heart palpitations, too scared to admit that I thought I was having a heart attack. My journey through burnout illuminated a path toward my purpose that I hadn’t previously recognized. Realizing that my own struggles were shared by countless other high-achieving women ignited a flame within me—a burning desire to become a trauma-informed certified coach in order to support those navigating similar challenges.
Knowing firsthand the feeling of constantly being overwhelmed and unfulfilled, I felt called to build my business based on a mission of supporting women on their journeys toward healing and transformation. Through my coaching practice, keynote speeches, and workshops I have the privilege of helping women unlearn what no longer serves them, and rediscover their inner strength, empowering them to confidently navigate their unique path to fulfillment.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As an empowerment coach and keynote speaker, I have the privilege of guiding high-achieving women on transformative journeys toward healing, and self-discovery. What excites me most about my work is witnessing the profound shifts my clients experience as they reconnect with their inner strength, reclaim their worth, and embrace lives of authenticity and purpose. Through my brand, I aim to create a supportive and empowering community where women feel seen, heard, and valued as they navigate the complexities of life and leadership. I’m also thrilled to announce the launch of my podcast titled, Your Future Starts Now, dedicated to redefining success for high achieving women.
I welcome the opportunity to connect with experts who focus on women’s wellness, and in particular trauma-informed mental health providers.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, three qualities that have been immensely impactful are my intuition, nurturing abilities, and empathy. For years, I disregarded these innate gifts because they didn’t conform to the traditional corporate mold dominated by male-centric values. However, over the years, I came to realize that these qualities are my unique superpowers, fueling my success and fulfillment in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
My advice for those early in their journey is to turn inward and embrace their authenticity wholeheartedly. Recognize and honor your unique gifts, even if they don’t align with societal norms or expectations. True success comes from owning and embracing who you are, unapologetically.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I was raised by my aunt and uncle so the most impactful thing my parents did for me was to welcome me into their family with open arms. As a child, naturally, I often grappled with questions of identity and belonging, but they strengthened my resilience and determination to forge my own unique path.
Their love and support have shaped me into the person I am today, and I am forever grateful for the foundation of love and acceptance they provided.
