Meet Gigi Harville

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gigi Harville. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gigi below.

Hi Gigi, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
I never allow that to be my focus. I know I deserve and belong in any room I step into. If I focused on only one of those two things, I wouldn’t get anywhere. I focused on all I wanted to achieve and accomplish that day. I refuse to give myself limitations or restrictions. I give myself reminders that I am deserving of great things to come in my life because I am a hard worker and work with good intentions.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Gigi Harville is the CEO of The Paul Harville Group a Talent Management company based in Los Angeles where she specializes in Artist Development, Talent management, Brand and Content strategy Songwriting and Vocal Production.

The most exciting part of my job is helping my talent and businesses we consult with achieve success in the area of music, social media, brand building and growth. .

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Communication is key
Never feel like you know everything.
There is always something to learn. Learning is growth. And don’t be afraid to ask for what you want.
All they can say is no. The word “no” doesn’t mean it’s not possible.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am definitely looking to collaborate with like-minded individuals to build and grow new business opportunities.
