We were lucky to catch up with Gilesa Key recently and have shared our conversation below.

Gilesa, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.

My godmother, Shamiki Silas was the nicest person you could ever meet! She was kind to everyone. When she died, I was so devastated and to deal with my grief. I continued to be kind to others and smile more! I know that’s what she would have wanted.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am a Witch and I come from a long bloodline of witches, warlocks, hoodoo healers and more! I’ve been doing tarot readings, spells, rituals, jars and more since July 16th of 2021. I made my LLC that same day and I’ve had the pleasure of helping folks heal, make more money, find love and even help them with family issues. I enjoy helping people because someone once helped me!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

As a witch, one of my best qualities is kindness! People come to me with their problems and I don’t judge! I listen and I guide them the best way that I can! Besides having family history of this kind of work, I also studied a lot especially African spirituality, astrology, hoodoo and more! I would tell anyone who’s thinking about starting their journey, please do research! Books not the internet!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

The most helpful person I have in my life who has helped me with my business is my wonderful best friend Luna! My first year of business I didn’t make much money and I wanted to give up. She told me not to let one year define me and to keep going! Whenever I have any challenges she’s always there to hold my hand and push me to keep going!
