Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gina Noyce. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Gina, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
From a young age I had to learn to take care of myself. My parents divorced when I was a baby. My Mom, who had primary custody of me, wasn’t home much, and my Dad only had custody of me on the weekends up until my early teenage life. Taking care of myself starting at such a young age and for so long really teaches you how to adapt to different situations. That instilled a mindset in me that I am in charge of providing for myself and if I want something it’s up to me to get it. Now I took that mindset and entered the world of tattooing. At fist it was very overwhelming but exciting. I have ran into numerous hurdles while tattooing, but nothing a little resilience can’t overcome.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a Tattoo Artist and owner of No Vacancy Ink. I love tattooing because of the people I get to meet and share my art with. There is something so humbling and exciting about someone wanting your art on them forever. I specialize in a few styles, but pride myself in being able to do a wide variety of things. My favorites are dark/horror, black and grey realism, and dot work. Beginning in 2024 I will be branching out and adding an online store for No Vacancy Ink. I will offer art prints, paintings, and other artsy goodies. I also plan to have a clothing line for No Vacancy Ink in 2024.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think one thing that has been important in my journey is making connections with the right people. In many instances I was surrounded by negativity which in turn impacted my business negatively. Surround yourself with people who support you and believe in your purpose. The second thing that has been important on my journey is choosing the right environment for myself. Our environment triggers so much in our business and mental health. Make sure to find somewhere you find yourself excited and comfortable going to, and also find the environment that sparks your inspiration if you can.
Thirdly, my journey has taught me to ride the wave. Accept the good and the bad. Not everything is sunshine, but not everything sucks either. Learn what deserves your attention and focus on that.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In the last 12 months the biggest area of growth for me has been my mental health and some internal healing. I never put much focus on this in the past and was just in constant fight or flight mode. This year I decided to explore myself more mentally and also began to practice meditation. These things alone have helped my relationship with my business so much. You can’t pour into your business properly if you’re feeling empty or overwhelmed.
