Meet Giseleine Chain Dogon

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Giseleine Chain Dogon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Giseleine, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimism comes from a deep belief that everything in life happens for me, not to me. That mindset has carried me through some of the hardest seasons of life—personally and professionally. I’ve learned to trust that even challenges are part of the path, and that the best things are always making their way to me, even if it doesn’t look like it in the moment. I know some people see that as naive, but I’d call it grounded optimism. I’m realistic about the work and the odds—but I still choose to believe in possibility

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a licensed esthetician and the founder of Your Bliss Skin & Body Care, a boutique skincare studio in Colorado Springs rooted in intention, education, and personalized care. My journey began almost 10 years ago, and what started as a passion for helping others feel good in their skin has grown into a business that supports confidence, healing, and real results.

At Your Bliss, I specialize in sugaring (a gentle, effective hair removal method), custom facials tailored to each client’s skin goals, lash lifts and tints, and intimate skin lightening services. One of my favorite signature treatments is the Sweetest Bliss Facial—a one-of-a-kind facial that uses sugar to gently exfoliate, extract, and remove peach fuzz for smooth, radiant skin without irritation.

What sets Your Bliss apart is the care and thought behind everything I do. I’m not just offering services, I’m creating rituals that help people reconnect to themselves. Whether someone comes in overwhelmed, unsure, or simply needing a moment to reset, my space is designed to help them leave feeling calm, cared for, and more at home in their skin.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding the educational side of my brand with digital resources like the Glow Guide for Busy Pros, our Graceful Aging guide, and a Rosacea Relief Toolkit—all designed to help clients take the guesswork out of their skincare at home. I’ve also launched a monthly flash sale series to welcome new clients in, starting with “Smooth Like Summer,” a seasonal sugaring special that’s already getting a lot of love.

As we approach the 10-year anniversary of Your Bliss this summer, I’m reflecting on how far this journey has come. I’m also looking forward to even more growth, community, and bliss ahead.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three things that made the biggest difference in my journey are adaptability, emotional intelligence, and a strong commitment to learning.

Adaptability helped me keep going through the unexpected. As a solo business owner, things don’t always go as planned. Being able to shift gears without losing sight of my purpose made all the difference. For those just starting, stay flexible and open. Your path may not look like what you imagined, but that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong one.

Emotional intelligence allowed me to connect deeply with my clients and manage the emotional side of service work. People bring more than just skin concerns into the treatment room. Being able to listen, support, and still protect my own energy has been essential. If you’re new, work on understanding yourself and how to hold space for others without losing yourself.

A commitment to learning has been the fuel for my growth. Whether it’s skin science, marketing, or mindset work, I’ve stayed curious and willing to evolve. For anyone starting out—ask questions, try new things, and allow yourself to grow through it all.

Success isn’t about being perfect. It’s about staying present, staying hungry to learn, and showing up even when it’s hard.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I pause and check in with myself—my breath, my body, and what I actually need in that moment. Sometimes that’s stepping outside for fresh air, making a warm cup of tea, or writing everything down until it feels less tangled. I’ve learned that I don’t have to fix everything all at once. Slowing down helps me move forward with more clarity.

I don’t cancel plans, but I do communicate. I let the people in my life know how I’m able to show up that day—whether I’m feeling light and social or quiet and low energy. I’ve worked hard to build a circle that accepts me in every state, and that’s a big part of what keeps me grounded.

My advice? Don’t ignore the signs your body and mind are giving you. Overwhelm is often your system’s way of asking for gentleness. Give yourself room to breathe. Simplify where you can. And stay connected to people who truly see you—even when you’re not at 100%.
