We recently connected with Giulia Martello and have shared our conversation below.
Giulia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
By listening to those moments when I felt butterflies in my stomach and recognizing what came naturally to me.
Let me take a step back:
I grew up in Italy, studying Design, surrounded by friends, creating crafts in my spare time, and nurturing a passion for nature and volunteering. When I landed my first big job in Austria at a design and art company, I kept asking myself: “What makes me unique? What would truly fulfill my life?”
At the time, I felt I was good at many things but not particularly great at any one thing. On top of that, I struggled with imposter syndrome, thinking: “I’m still too young to be really good at something.”
Years went by, I learned a lot, and eventually, I reached a point where I needed something different. So, I quit my job and traveled to Peru to research weaving… but instead, I ended up finding my husband and discovering my spiritual side. Creating design purely for aesthetic purposes was no longer enough for me, so I started studying astrology—something I had secretly been drawn to since childhood but had never taken seriously. Just for fun, I began giving readings to friends, and they loved it. That’s how I started my business here in the U.S.
At first, I followed the traditional rules of astrology, but over time, I naturally developed a more creative approach. This led me to where I am today—a place where I feel truly fulfilled because I allowed myself to integrate my love for helping others with a creative tool. It wasn’t easy to recognize at first, but by supporting others, I began to see it in myself too: our purpose is usually not far from us—it’s hidden within what we love and what comes naturally to us.
That’s when I realized how much joy I felt in helping others see their own beauty (that butterfly-in-the-stomach feeling) and how effortlessly I could use creative tools to do it. I’m still learning, and I love expanding my vision more each year. But what I love even more is helping others find their own purpose (= seeing themselves with new eyes) because a world full of fulfilled people is a world where we can all live better.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m Giulia Martello, artist and astrologer, founder of APARTAS—a space where astrology meets creativity to inspire self-expression and personal empowerment. My work blends karmic and Jungian astrology with an artistic, evocative approach, helping people see themselves with new eyes. Through readings, workshops, creative tools, and personalized astrological content, I guide individuals—especially creative and entrepreneurial women—toward embracing their uniqueness and living authentically.
What excites me most about APARTAS is how astrology becomes a living, breathing tool for self-discovery, not just something abstract or theoretical. I don’t just interpret charts; I create immersive experiences that spark insight and transformation. Whether it’s an astrology-infused workshop, a beautifully designed astrological journal, or an in-depth session, my goal is to provide both wisdom and inspiration—a mix of deep-rooted knowledge and creative expression that allows people to feel seen, understood, and empowered.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding my offerings to make astrology even more accessible and engaging. I’ve recently introduced private and corporate astrology events, where I bring the magic of the stars to intimate gatherings and business settings, creating meaningful and memorable experiences.
I’m also working on an astrological journal with yearly planetary transits, that will help people harness cosmic energy in their creative and personal days. (It will be available at the end of the year).
At its core, APARTAS is about helping people reconnect with their personal power / talents / potential through astrology in a way that feels inspiring, insightful, and beautifully unique. Because when we truly see ourselves, we unlock the freedom to live, create, and express in our most authentic way.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I can see three key qualities that have shaped my path and helped me build a meaningful career: courage, adaptability, and authenticity. These aren’t just personal traits; they are essential skills that anyone can cultivate to create a fulfilling journey.
1. Having the Courage to Do Things on My Own
I’ve always believed that doing things solo is one of the most powerful ways to grow. I started traveling alone at 19—first on small trips, then on a two-month adventure to Peru that completely shifted my life. But courage isn’t just about travel. It’s in the little things, too—going to an event alone, sitting at a restaurant by myself, stepping into unknown situations without waiting for someone to come with me. Every time I pushed myself to do something independently, I built the strength to take bigger leaps later. That courage led me to new experiences, new perspectives, and ultimately, a wider network of people who shaped my path in unexpected ways.
2. Being Open to New Ideas & Technology While Valuing Traditional Wisdom
I’ve never been the kind of person who jumps on the latest technology or trends just because they’re new. In fact, for a long time, I resisted them. I loved the old ways of doing things—handwritten notes, deep conversations, craftsmanship that takes time. But working for myself, I quickly realized that staying open to innovation is just as important as honoring tradition. They don’t have to be in conflict; in fact, they feed each other. Learning how to balance both has been a huge part of my journey. I still cherish what’s timeless, but I’ve also learned to embrace new tools that help me share my work with more people.
3. Doing Things My Own Way
I’ve never liked the idea of copying someone else’s way of doing things. It never felt natural to me. Even when I started studying astrology, I followed the rules at first, but eventually, I found my own creative approach—one that felt right for me. I believe there’s something incredibly valuable in letting yourself express, create, and live in your own unique way. The more I leaned into that, the more things started to flow. Of course, it wasn’t always easy. The world often tries to push you toward what’s already been done, what’s “proven” to work. But I’ve always felt that true personal satisfaction and success—at least for me—comes from knowing I stayed true to my own voice.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is someone who is curious, creative, and open to seeing themselves in a new way. They don’t come to me looking for rigid answers; they come because they want to explore, expand, and embrace their uniqueness.
Most of the people I work with are creative souls, entrepreneurs, artists, and deep thinkers—those who feel there’s something bigger inside them waiting to be fully expressed. Some are at the start of their journey, trying to understand their purpose, while others are already on their path but crave a fresh perspective, a deeper confirmation of who they are.
One of the things I love most about astrology is that it isn’t confined to just one area of life. My clients know they can come to me with any kind of question—family relationships, karmic wounds, career choices, where to look next in life, or even creative team-building experiences for their business. Astrology is a map, and I love bringing its meaning into service of personal growth, creative expression, and empowerment.
What all my clients have in common is a desire to connect with themselves on a deeper level—not just through astrology but through creative self-exploration. They are willing to look beyond labels, to play with new ideas, and to integrate what they discover into their daily lives.
I love working with people who are ready to trust their intuition, who value both wisdom and beauty, and who aren’t afraid to dive into their own complexity. They don’t have to have it all figured out (who does?!), but they should be excited about the process of self-discovery—because that’s where the magic happens.
