We recently connected with Glenn Aure and have shared our conversation below.

Glenn, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from a mix of personal experiences and the support of those around me. Having to overcome many challenges and learning from failures have taught me to stay strong and positive. My family and friends play a crucial role, always encouraging me and offering perspective. My values, beliefs, and goals also drive me, giving me the determination to push through tough times. Each obstacle I’ve faced has made me stronger and more resilient.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Well, I’m an Industry Music Professional with over 30+ years of experience in both FM Radio and Major Label Record Companies. I was formerly the Program Director, Music Director, and Mixshow DJ for 106 KMEL San Francisco, CA. I have also served as National Director Of Rhythm Crossover for Capitol Records. Currently I am an Independent Promoter helping clients with their FM Radio and Internet Radio Promotions.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

As a music industry professional, my ability to forge meaningful connections with artists and industry insiders has been pivotal in my journey. This knack for networking has opened doors to collaborations and opportunities that have significantly advanced my career. Additionally, my keen understanding of market trends and consumer behavior has enabled to me to make strategic decisions, ensuring the success of various projects. Finally, my unwavering dedication to honing my craft and staying abreast of industry innovations has kept me at the forefront of the rapidly involving music landscape, consistently delivering high-quality work that resonates with audiences and peers alike.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My manager and business partner has been incredibly instrumental in helping me overcome various challenges with my work. Her unwavering support and guidance have made a difference in my professional growth. Whenever I encounter a difficult situation, she is always there with practical advice, encouragement, and a clear plan of action. Her approachability and willingness to listen has created an environment where I feel comfortable discussing my concerns and seeking assistance. By providing constructive feedback and fostering a culture of continuous learning, she has empowered me to tackle obstacles with confidence and resilience, ensuring that I not only meet, but exceed my goals. Whenever I get the chance, I always like to shout her out.
