Meet Glenn Douglas Packard

We recently connected with Glenn Douglas Packard (Emmy Award Nominee) and have shared our conversation below.

Glenn, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
Knowledge

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Glenn Douglas Packard is INspiring the Michigan entertainment world with the announcement of Untouchables Entertainment Inc. going into a full spectrum entertainment hub for clients looking for an impactful creative and quality visuals to help elevate their brand or event. My back ground is I was creative director & choreographer for over 180 shows including Michael Jackson’s 30th Anniversary Celebration on CBS, Whitney Houston’s All-Star Gala, Madison Square Garden Miracle on 34th Street, Chippendales US & world tour, Latin Billboard & Grammy Awards, GLAAD Media Awards, Pink, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee & Deborah Cox live stage performances.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I think if I was to break down my career journey into 3 chapters of my life, there was the younger years…country farmer Glenn, my NYC dream big dancer/choreographer Glenn & then there is the current Entrepreneur/director/mentor Glenn. Working on a Michigan farm till the age of 19 taught me the true meaning of hard work not to mention seeing my fathers dreams unfold as being a successful diary farming enterprise. It set me up for success in my next chapter of going for my dance dreams, hard work ethic got me to the place I wanted to be as a dancer and then the respect I needed in the INdustry to get me to becoming one of the most sought after choreographers in the city if you can make it there you can make it anywhere. I knew being in charge of the movement on a project as choreographer made me realize I had the gift of leadership and that took me towards the direction of storytelling and filmmaking and being now the CEO of Untouchable Entertainment Incorporated, an all spectrum entertainment hub.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Great question, I am actually right now writing a book, it’s part autobiography meets tips on dance that can get your thru life and teach you a lot about yourself. I love this question because I owe a lot of my success to comic books. I picked up my first comic book when I was 13 years old and I have been reading them ever since, I am 54 years old now…so that is a lot of comic books (I have quite the collection, that I am so proud of). These characters, writers, artist and story arcs have helped me along my life’s journey. Cloak & Dagger, Legion of Superheroes, Teen Titans, Swamp Thing, R.O.M. where ones that really tackled things that were going on in my life, as a young boy growing up in a very conservative environment, comic books taught me that all people are created equal, along with justice for all. The X-men comic series were a big influence going into my late teens and early twenties because I could relate with the characters. They were always not welcomed by ‘normal people’ because they were different because they were ‘mutants’. Being a young gay man not being excepted by ‘normal people’, I would think of their story lines and how they still continued to be themselves and help others even if when people didn’t except them, it made a huge impact on me, no matter what, I was going to live true to myself and continue to help others. Comic books and Stan Lee help me unleash my superpowers I had in me and made me believe in myself and that made me my own hero.
