Meet Gloria Glow

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gloria Glow. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Gloria, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I definitely didn’t start with the amount of confidence I have now, but from what I know of my story, it started with a quote I heard in 2019. A friend of mine was a life coach, and after a discussion we were having he told me this, “Success is 90% mindset”. Regardless if that was true, I was hooked. Drawn to this new idea, that the way I think, could change my future. All of a sudden, it wasn’t the greats, and way way down the podium was little ol me, who felt didn’t grow up with the advantages it took to become a ‘great’. Now I saw things different, or maybe clearer. Learn, evolve, and keep putting in the work. This what they all do, and it’s something I could and can do too! The playing field was more balanced than I had previously thought, success is more attainable than I thought, and if you really want something bad enough, getting what you want is suddenly, not so far out of reach. So, maybe it was a bit of a hopeless delusion that pushed me through the beginning stages of taking risks and chasing my dreams. But eventually, as things started lining up for me, opportunities I would have never dreamed of coming into my reality, I became more and more convinced I knew what it took. Learn, evolve, and keep putting in the work. Thats what they do, it was something we could all do.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Morality has always been a big part of my pursuit of a fulfilling life. Going into collaborations with honesty, kindness, and humility were always something I wanted to be known for. Especially in industries like Modelling or Music where a huge part of success is network and reputation, being someone people could trust was important to me. Honouring my obligations, having prices that reflected the work I put in, connecting other people together with no benefit to myself, these were steps I counted necessary. More so in the music industry, there does tend to be an ego trip that crashes careers before they start, so humility was a big part for me in being able to evolve as a musician. Ask for critiques from reputable sources, avoid the sugar coating answers and get down to the core of what makes a good record. Being ready to be told my record wasn’t cutting industry standard or wasn’t up to par with what was on the radio was something I HAD to be willing to work through, in order to make the necessary changes. This is how I plan to continue going into all my future collaborations, whether that be for a modelling job, toplining a record, recording vocals, or releasing music.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Learn from people above you. People already in the shoes you are trying to fill. You will naturally have a different path in life so don’t work about wanting to ‘make your own way’. Learn how to walk before you trail off. Passion is another quality that is rarely obtained but rather, born with. I challenge people to dive deep into things that wake them up in the normal, that put a smile on their face and think “wow life is beautiful”. Explore that, and see if there are mindset roadblocks. Blocks out doubt and fear can be stripped away the more we work at it. Take the singing lessons, buy the piano, or apply to your dream school and move cities! Life is a lot less scary when we break our goals up into steps. And lastly, I would say an important step in my career, is to stay adaptable. Life changes, plans don’t go the way we hoped, or take way longer than expected. That’s normal for all of us. Do what you need to do, but dont forget about your dreams or let fear and doubt stop you before you try.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

My father was my hero. Joyous, hard working, and caring. An amazing thin the did for me while I was growing up and forcing me to get a job at 15. Although, I didn’t love it at the time, I am really appreciative for what it taught me and for how it put me ahead of my classmates who some didn’t have jobs until they were 19. It taught me responsibility, money management, independence. Once he passed suddenly in 2021, I spent a lot of time reflecting on his life and everything he did for me. By 19 I was supporting myself, through college, managing insurance and my travels around the world. I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I am without his desire for his kids to be able to take care of themselves.
