Meet Gloria Moore

We were lucky to catch up with Gloria Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.

Gloria, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Over time, I learned to embrace challenges instead of avoiding them. Each time I stepped outside my comfort zone, I gained new skills and proved to myself that I was capable of more than I realized.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am a 25-year-old licensed esthetician with years of experience in the beauty and skincare industry. My journey began at 17, when I started offering eyelash services in high school and built a small business from the ground up. That early experience sparked my passion for aesthetics and inspired me to pursue it as a long-term career.

After graduating, I decided to elevate my skills and expand my services by enrolling in Beaver Beauty Academy’s esthetics program in 2018. Completing my education there allowed me to strengthen my technical foundation, refine my client care approach, and step confidently into the professional world as a trained esthetician.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Consistency & Discipline
2. Strong client communication & professionalism
3. Willingness to learn

For anyone early in their journey, focus on building strong habits. Practice regularly, stay organized, and treat every client like an opportunity to elevate your craft. Consistency compounds over time. Stay curious and never assume you “know enough.” Take classes, ask questions, shadow other professionals, and invest in your education. The more you learn, the more confident and valuable you become.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

My parents have played a significant role in helping me overcome challenges throughout my journey. Their consistent support, encouragement, and guidance have provided me with a strong foundation, allowing me to stay focused, resilient, and motivated as I pursued my goals.
