Meet Glory!

We were lucky to catch up with Glory! recently and have shared our conversation below.

Glory!, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I built my self-esteem and confidence through trials and tribulations — and I’m not just saying that. Growing up, I was overweight — fat as hell — but one thing I always had was energy. That energy never left me. When I started losing weight, I began to feel better about myself. Then music came into my life, and over time, it helped me find my voice and my confidence. It takes real self-belief to step on a stage, to put your art out into the world.

I made a promise to myself: to work on becoming a better version of me every single day. That’s how I developed the sense of self I have now. My self-esteem is high because when it was low, I put in the work to build it.

I’m not perfect. I still have dark days. I still struggle with anxiety and suicidal thoughts at times. But I’ve learned that life is about what you make of it — how you respond, how you rise, how you keep running the race, even when you feel like you’re falling behind.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Glory!, and I make music. I’ve been drawn to music since I was a baby, but it wasn’t until my freshman year of high school that I realized just how deeply curious I was about it. Even as a kid, I remember listening to artists like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Wiz Khalifa on the radio — really listening, digesting every lyric, every melody. I can still recall every song that played on the local station back then.

As I got older, I started creating music myself. My first song was called TED Talk — and honestly, it sucked. But I had fun making it, and that moment sparked something real in me. Fast forward a few years, and now I’ve released three full-length albums, been featured in a few magazines, performed on a Debut lineup, and worked with several producers. I also founded my own label called Born Guilty.

The mission behind Born Guilty is to support artists who feel like they were born at a disadvantage — giving them opportunities, resources, and a team that believes in them when the industry might not.

I just dropped my third album, Show of Force It’s a rap album with punchy flows, while still having a lyrical aspect to it.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The only advice I have is this: find something you truly love to do. For me, that’s music — and it has been for years. I love making music more than almost anything. Whenever I leave town, I bring my studio equipment with me. I’m constantly looking to connect with producers and engineers. I love shooting music videos. I love every part of the process — from writing and creating to marketing and promoting.

Music isn’t just something I do; it’s something I live for. So whatever it is for you — music, art, business, anything — find that thing you love, and commit to working on it every day. That’s where the growth comes from.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

The crazy thing is, I don’t know if I have a decade left, a month, or just a day. That’s why you have to live — really live. Experience everything. Feel it. Enjoy it.

God forbid, but if I die tomorrow, I can honestly say I did what I wanted to do with the time I had. If I die in a month, I still lived the way I wanted to — no regrets. You don’t have time to waste. If there’s something you want to do, do it. If there’s someone you want to talk to, reach out. Life is short — stop waiting.

And honestly, without the fear of death — or even the awareness of it — life would have little to no meaning. In a strange way, death brings me comfort. It reminds me we’re on a clock, and that inspires me to live on purpose. To get up and make the most of every second. That urgency gives life its weight, its beauty, and its power.
