We were lucky to catch up with Gold Blake recently and have shared our conversation below.
Gold, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?
Creativity is always alive for me, even when I’m not physically creating, I’m creating mentally. For example, I have moments when I’m just showering and ideas pop into my mind that I expand on later. Those quiet moments allow the door to open in my mind to an untapped avenue of what to create next. Life & meditation for a clear mind are always my natural techniques to allow my creativity to spark new moments in creation for me. Life for authenticity in my creation and meditation (also helps) for ideas to flow to me like a serene ocean surrounded by the most beautiful elements of paradise you can imagine
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What I love to do is create visuals for my brand, Gold.Blake, which are the most fun, vibrant, & fashionable moments in photography I can imagine from my point of view of myself at that time. This art leads to opening doors for me creating some of the most amazing runway modeling moments from LAFW to NYFW to walk in. I’m also someone who loves technology so much so I love to blend it into my art. Technology is my second love as I also graduated from University of Memphis in my hometown majoring in Business Information & Technology. More-so, I’m even able to collaborate & influence with high profile fashion companies based off the sheer talent I display on instagram. It’s 2024 now and I’m prepared to expand and be more known with my talents, elevate my portfolio, my talents, my creative direction and all that I do.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three areas of knowledge that has been impactful has been failures that were really the best lessons, researching every little detail on what I’m doing creative wise and advice from my parents. For anyone early in the journey, I always suggest behind hands on with whatever you are doing as it builds so much knowledge in your career. No one can ever take your knowledge away from you.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
My Email/Instagram are the best way, and be sure to tap into GoldBlake.Com for a more hands on aspect of my work. Concerning work, I’m actually open to expand my creative talents into travel now. I’ve always loved seeing the world since I was a little boy. My mom tells the funniest story of how her and my dad would dress me as a toddler, usually they would make it to finally putting my coat on – I would then burst out the door like a track runner just so excited to be out and see the world and that feeling of exploration is still with me. I’m traveling more now which has equated to me just falling so in love with it while seeing the beauties of the world to also sharing it online. Therefore, I’m wanting to collaborate with traveling partnerships more than ever now. Lastly, I still love fashion & modeling so combining travel and fashion content for work is the goal to come true in the making for me this year.
