We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Grace Schindler a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Grace, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I overcame imposter syndrome with time, more awareness and by letting go of the need for external validation and focusing on my unique strengths and abilities. Trusting in my own skills, talents, and experience allowed me to recognize my value and the positive impact I have on my clients. Instead of letting fears or doubts control me, I shifted my mindset to believe in myself and the work I do, which has helped me navigate my career with greater confidence and authenticity.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my story today! I’m an Esthetician and Reiki Master with over 17 years of experience, and the proud founder of Radiant Grace in Pompano Beach, Fl.

My passion for skincare and holistic wellness comes from a deeply personal place. Growing up with chronic eczema made me hyper-aware of skin health and sparked a lifelong curiosity and passion for skincare. As a child, I devoured books and magazines about skincare, transforming my early passion into a rewarding career in 2007. Today, I am as enthusiastic about skincare as ever.

My career has taken me through luxury spas, where I’ve refined my skills and deepened my expertise. In 2020, during the pandemic, I took the bold step to go fully solo with Radiant Grace, creating a sanctuary for soulful skincare. Early this year, I relocated from Miami to Pompano Beach, FL, bringing Radiant Grace to a flourishing vibrant new community.

I use in my treatments and retail professional-grade skincare products and offer advanced facials tailored to promote actual visible changes in the skin. My approach emphasizes “age well” rather than “anti-aging,” focusing on nurturing the skin’s health and vitality using your own body for more collagen formation with different modalities and products. I’m also passionate about facial massage and use tools to detoxify the skin and release tension, embracing a holistic approach to aging gracefully. As an acne specialist, I offer a dedicated acne bootcamp and specific acne products to help clients achieve and maintain clear skin. I offer a wide array of facials on my menu, including chemical peels, hydrofacials, microchanneling, bespoke facials, and even a luxurious 2-hour Bliss facial!

In addition to skincare, I integrate Reiki, an energy healing technique, into my practice. Clients can experience full Reiki sessions or a 30-minute energy alignment boost add-on to any facial, enhancing their overall wellness experience.

What excites me most is witnessing the transformation in my clients, whom I affectionately call Radiant Beauties, as they heal and embrace deeper self-love. Beyond skincare, Radiant Grace offers a sanctuary—a time for clients to disconnect from daily life, recenter, and nurture themselves inside and out.

My new studio in Old Pompano reflects this peaceful sanctuary with its charming Mediterranean-style building, serene garden, and tranquil koi fish pond. Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that have profoundly shaped my journey are:

1. Humility and Teachability: Embracing humility has been a game-changer, keeping me open to new ideas and approaches. Realizing there’s always more to learn especially in the field that I’m in! It has driven continuous improvement and adaptability.
– Advice: For those just starting out, cultivate humility by actively seeking feedback and embracing constructive criticism. Stay curious and teachable by attending workshops, taking courses, and exploring advancements in your field. Let every experience be a learning opportunity!

2. Commitment to Education and Growth: My relentless pursuit of education and growth has been pivotal. It has not only enhanced my expertise but it also reignites my passion for my profession.
– Advice: Invest in your education by earning certifications, attending conferences, and networking with industry professionals. Keep up with trends and innovations to stay ahead of the curve and maintain your excitement and motivation.

3. Mentorship and Guidance: Having a mentor who has traveled the path I aspire to has been invaluable. Their guidance and shared experiences have helped me navigate challenges more effectively.
– Advice: Find a mentor who aligns with your goals and values. Build genuine relationships in your industry and seek advice and guidance without hesitation. Learn from their successes and failures to accelerate your growth and gain valuable insights.

Additionally, my advice to those starting out is to avoid comparing themselves to others. Focus on your unique journey, commit to doing the next right thing, and trust that your path will unfold in its own special way.
