We were lucky to catch up with Greg Gregorian recently and have shared our conversation below.
Greg, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I love this question. My optimism comes from my faith with God. Every time I’ve set a goal, It has always come to fruition, as long as I continually worked at it. Even when I felt like I was coming down to the wire, having faith has pulled through for me each and every major goal that I set. I wake up with the excitement that today could be the day that I get that call, email, DM, text, or shake the hand of the next person that is going to help me to the next level with all my goals. People have then asked me “well what if you don’t get that interaction today?” I simply respond with a smile “I guess today wasn’t the day, maybe tomorrow.” I keep the mentality “faith with works, works” which has fueled my optimism to this day.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I started Lunar Branding® 7 years ago with a small idea and it has taken flight! Lunar Branding® is a creative ad agency that specializes in the sale of promotional products and customized branded merchandise. We have 5 other offerings which include; logo & graphic design, brand consulting, e-commerce stores, video marketing, and custom projects. What sets us apart is our client’s experiences working with us and our creative curated solutions that are tailored to each client specifically. For example, if a client wants USA made, sustainable, and full color imprint, we make sure our team is only presenting options that fit that client’s preference and ethos. This allows the client to proudly rep their company brand with their merchandise not just because it has their company logo on it, but also because those products are USA made and sustainable, which tie into their brand completely. They say shoot for the Moon and you’ll land amongst the stars, but I can’t help but feel that I’ve landed on the Moon and have brought my clients with me.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting back on my journey, I would say three qualities that are essential for entrepreneurs are grit, confidence, and discipline. You will continually face new obstacles as you level up and developing these qualities will help you overcome these obstacles a lot easier. Starting with grit; you will get knocked down a lot as you begin your journey. To have the tenacity to keep going will develop that grit and as you grow stronger, you will get back up faster and become less phased with negative results. Confidence is also key, especially because imposter syndrome tends to set in. To help overcome imposter syndrome and improve your confidence, it’s important to reflect back on any previous goals you have set and accomplished. This will prove to yourself that you’ve done it in the past and can do it again. If you ever need a little boost, set daily small achievable goals to put yourself right back on track. Lastly, discipline is what can set you apart from your peers. Developing and maintaining the discipline to put in the work regardless of how tired you are, energy levels, or peer pressure to go out will have you laser focused on what you need to do to accomplish your goals. Now with all three of these qualities developed, you can conquer anything that comes your way!
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Yes as an entrepreneur I’m always facing challenges. One challenge I have encountered and I’m slowly overcoming is the foundation of my business and how it was built. I initially started my company and built it for me and how I operate. As I’ve grown, I’ve realized my foundation was not built optimally to onboard and scale a team. So now I am beginning to develop onboarding and training processes for the different roles in my business to make it easier to absorb new team members. This is time consuming because it forces me to sit down and document all of my processes. Hindsight is 20/20 but building something in the beginning is tough because I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I’m sure there will be more obstacles I will encounter as I continue to scale.
