Meet Grim Bernhoft

We were lucky to catch up with Grim Bernhoft recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Grim, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?

I think I’ve always felt a strong sense of joy in giving, To share is the the core of the purpose of creativity I think, to take an emotion and transform it into a gift for someone.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Music was always my driving purpose, I knew from an early age that it’s what I wanted to do for a living. I was never driven by fame or money. I was “discovered” by a scout for modeling when I was 19 and used that for traveling around the world playing music and honing my photography as it’s something i love as well. I just finished two new singles that will be released next months.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I think for me it was always the passion of adventure that pushed me forward, to travel and meet new people, cultures and music around the world. To not be limited by fear and to always look for knowledge and new skills so that you can grow. I think honesty in your writing and your art is key for it to have an impact on people. My advice to anyone venturing in an artistic journey is, people will always offer their opinion and criticism on what you do, don’t let it get to you, if your art comes from your heart, it’s beautiful.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?

I’ve been producing some music for film and TV and find it very satisfying, it drives a different aspect of your creativity and I’d like to do more of it as it challenge my creative process. I’m also always looking for people to work with, either it be photography or music. I also do some separate projects that are all instrumental pieces that I look for animation or or other visual art to accompany it.
