We recently connected with Grimmlockart and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Grimmlockart, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I developed confidence by putting myself outside my comfort zone. Since I was a young kid I’ve always tend to be the wall flower or a shadow in group settings. I always felt like I never really had a voice and as I grew older I wanted that to change and to be seen. Putting myself out there as an artist have opened doors not only me as a professional, but I was flourishing on the inside. It feels good to know that my peers are interested in my ideals and opinions. Confidence and self esteem isn’t taught you’ll have courageous and strong to get past deep insecurities.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hello, I’m the owner of Grimmlockart! I’ve been expressing myself creatively since I was a child, but been selling my work professional since 2020. I’m focused on learning new techniques to enhance my craft. I strive to learn as much knowledge as I can not only just pertaining to art, but all different walks of life. I always find myself lost in museums and different literatures which I draw inspiration from. So far I’ve accomplished a lot within my artistic career! I’ve been vending throughout the city, worked with several non profits and also been featured in a few galleries. I’m very optimistic for the future.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Don’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone starts somewhere, and we all develop at our own paces. Be patient with yourself and don’t get discouraged if it takes longer than you would like.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Hello, my name is Grimmlockart. I am a self-taught, visual artist. I would love to collaborate with local Baltimore artists who are interested in creating unique art in the local area. I am searching for artistic partners and would love to work with someone who shares my artistic vision.
