We were lucky to catch up with GRT recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have GRT with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My Parents. My mom was a force, she did the work of 3 people she was beautiful as she was creative truly before her time.
My father was from new York and always had a hustlers mentality
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is GRT. I was born in Sarasota Florida, and currently reside in Atlanta Georgia. I grew up In a spiritual musical family. I’m also a P.K. Which Stands for preachers kid if you don’t know lol , so my music roots is gospel. Gospel like the Clark sisters ,Winans and so on. But being the youngest of five I would be exposed to a broad span of Music, Music from, Usher, maroon 5, Rick Ross, and so on. so my appreciation for music runs deep, And it would only grow as I got older
Fast forward my family would move To Georgia and my life would change for the better.
My mom would buy me another keyboard but with five slots to record into, and I would make my first beats.
after a year, my mom would by my first software Studio One
And GRT was Born.
Fast forward 11 years my mom would Transition. And I would make my first. Ep Take 1 signifying the recording process with each take getting better and better.
Followed by Take Two. Two Singles and My current Project StoryTime I would cultivate
A sound unique to me.
I’ve reached a whole new plateau and can’t wait for y’all to hear what’s next.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Trust, Patience, respect,
1: Trust God, In everything step in everything meeting and listen to the signs he gives you.
2: Be patient. With people If your improving evolving everyday and constantly doing what your
supposed todo God will send
the right people to you.
3: Respect goes a long way treat people how you want to be treated
A good name is everything.
