We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Gustavo David . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Gustavo below.
Gustavo , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I don’t think I’m fully confident, but I do love myself with my flaws and bright sides, which makes me mentally strong to keep going. There’s gonna be black days and green- blue days, sad days and OK days. Whatever comes, I can comeback to myself.
When you get older, time passes, people around you are dealing with their own things, you gotta celebrate yourself, you gotta say: You did it! Congrats, now keep going.
But I do believe in genuinely celebrating the people that you love, there’s so much beauty in that, celebrate like it’s your victory too . (that’s what I call self-esteem).
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I I create things so I can talk to the world. I make a little space for myself in the artistic world and from now and then everything make sense in my life.
I am an actor that does plenty of auditions and 99% it’s a no, the rest is a yes… I know, cliche. But hey, who wants to wait for a casting director and a yes, so I get together with passionate hardworking people and we make things happen. I don’t want to wait for a yes, i can create the ‘ yes’.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Love
2. Perseverance
3.Discipline
Love what you do, your journey and yourself.
Be persistent (perseverant), nothing will be built in a day (I’m still building).
Be disciplined, show up on time, do your work and respect the people that you work with.
My advice would be, nothing and no one would let you know when it’s the perfect moment to do the thing. You make it perfect, so go and don’t look back.
What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
My biggest challenge right now is myself.
I think we always get to that point of the night when you are in your room, sharing your thoughts and emotions with yourself, and they can come with some negative baggage, which is OK… It’s OK to have them and open the door for them, so you can stay in the living room for a little bit, say hi to you, have a conversation, and they can go away, because they are not welcome, they’re just coming by to say hi, but they don’t have to stay.
I learn that I am my own competition and my superhero, I get to be the villain and the hero in my own story. I am always trying my best to keep the hero role.
