Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hadi Kubba. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hadi, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
My father is a very happy man. And my mother would be angry if I was sad.
I’m still trying to temper myself and be more thankful on a daily basis. Some people recommend walking through a graveyard to be grateful for the life you have. That’s not me though. I could never walk through a graveyard and feel grateful.
Every morning I run through the graveyard, and I’m feeling extremely grateful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I could rant about how much I love the artform but I’ll give you a more personal anecdote.
After a long night of driving between cities and shows, I had the worst show of my week. I felt off beat, sluggish and generally not in tune with the audience of 10. All of a sudden one guy was laughing really hard. He was falling over from laughing. After the show we talked, I thanked him for coming and I gave him tickets to a better show that would be packed with 100+ people.
As the show went on I realized that same man who laughed at everything just a week ago, was staring at me, horrified. I really enjoyed that.
Follow me on Instagram, YouTube or Facebook for clips and ticket information.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I had a decent mindset early on, and was lucky to find great friends with similar values. It’s easy to focus on work when all your close friends are as well.
My advice to someone new in their journey is to surround yourself with fun, positive, and motivated people, and be open to learning from them. Also if you have 6+ hours of screentime on your phone, put it away for a few hours!
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Musashi
It’s a very long historical fiction that follows the life of a samurai from childhood to death as an old man.
I always enjoy when I see similarities between ourselves and people who lived in completely different contexts, and this book is full of them.
One of the quotes I always think about is ‘if you know the way broadly, you will see it in everything.
I love the idea of dedication to one thing bleeding positively into other aspects of your life.
