Meet Hadiyah Weaver

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Hadiyah Weaver. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Hadiyah below.

Hadiyah, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?

I definitely believe my resilience comes from my upbringing in Memphis. Born and raised in the Bluff City, I truly think my hometown shaped me into someone who can adapt to life’s ups and downs. As a creative entrepreneur, especially in today’s climate, I don’t really have a choice but to keep going when things get tough. Growing up in Memphis made me deeply aware of how tough life can get, and how despite it all, you have to keep going.

My faith also plays a huge role in keeping me grounded. It constantly reminds me to persevere through all of life’s twists and turns. Spiritually, it’s done wonders for my mental health, just knowing I have a source beyond this world guiding and protecting me as I chase my creative dreams. It’s become much easier to bounce back from a bad audition or a video that doesn’t land. I’ve learned not to take it personally. I just take the lesson and charge it to the game.

At the end of the day, my faith, my roots in Memphis, and a commitment to staying positive are the foundations of my resilience. I’m incredibly grateful to do what I love, and I never take it for granted.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Hi! I’m Hadiyah Weaver, I’m a digital creator known online for proudly overanalyzing television characters. I’ve built a dedicated TikTok audience where I mix my takes with humor, heart and a sprinkle of southern flair. I have a strong background in performance and journalism, and I explore various forms of storytelling online from reviews to skits.

I’m also an actress, and have been in short films including Freedom’s Village, a historical fiction short, where I played the role of Francine.

As I continue creating digitally, I am expanding my digital footprint by developing an original web series, further bridging the gap between content creation and the entertainment industry. I’m putting one foot in front of the other, but very excited to show what I’ve been working on!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’ve always been eager to learn, and that curiosity has been with me since I was young. I used to, and still do, listen closely as my grandmother shared stories and wisdom from her life. Those moments shaped me into a naturally curious person, and I’ve learned to lean into that as a creator. Curiosity keeps me exploring, asking questions, and evolving.

Authenticity is also key. I love expressing myself in ways that feel true to who I am. I don’t believe in shrinking or toning myself down just to fit into a box. Over time, I’ve found that being unapologetically myself has opened more doors than trying to be someone I’m not. People connect with realness.

Finally, resourcefulness. If you have a dream or a goal, you’ve got to be willing to figure things out, even when the path isn’t clear. No matter what industry you’re in, challenges will come. But thinking creatively, using what you have, and being willing to work with limited resources, that kind of mindset will carry you far.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

As someone who is intentionally trying to set myself free from anxiety, I would say when overwhelmed, find your source. I get my source from God, and it trickles down into myself. Therapy, journaling, even just breathing for 5 minutes with no phone, no TV or any background noise helps me overcome any overwhelming feeling I tend to get.

“This too shall pass,” is what I try to remind myself, ha.
