Meet Haleigh Foster, MSN, FNP

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Haleigh Foster, MSN, FNP. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Haleigh below.

Haleigh, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Purpose isn’t always found — it’s built. Mine has taken shape through moves, mistakes, and milestones — all before 35. I’ve been married and divorced, moved cross-country, finished my master’s while working full-time, built a business, and confidently chosen a life without motherhood. Each chapter shaped my purpose.

I started injecting in 2017 in Nashville, working under a skilled but toxic plastic surgeon. My ICU background gave me clinical skill, but the plastic surgery practice taught me how much I love patient connection. A move to LA for my ex-husband’s job led to a similar environment until I prioritized my mental health and kept searching.

Landing at Pier Medical Aesthetics in Hermosa Beach was the turning point. Patients followed me — their trust boosted my confidence in my craft. When offered partnership if I became a Nurse Practitioner, I enrolled in my master’s, worked days, and studied nights. I also became a national trainer for Revance/Crown Aesthetics.

Meanwhile, my marriage unraveled. We grew apart and had opposing views on starting a family. Ending it was painful but clear — I had a goal to chase and a team to lean on.

Today, my purpose is threefold:

To help patients see and celebrate their natural beauty while addressing insecurities.
To educate and support new injectors, reminding them mistakes are part of mastery.
To lead from behind and nurture a healthy, positive culture with my Pier Medical family of 12.

Purpose isn’t handed to you — you build it, step by step, even when life falls apart.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Pier Medical Aesthetics is located in the heart of Hermosa Beach. It’s a practice that was founded by Dr. Douglas Mest and Cyndee Spear, RN almost 20 years ago, where patients can feel seen and cared for. We focus on non surgical treatments such as wrinkle reducers, dermal fillers, regenerative treatments and lasers.

Our office has three providers that are national trainers for three different pharmaceutical companies (Allergan, Galderma and Revance/Crown), meaning that they’ve been successful at teaching others and have reached exceptional patient outcomes. With aesthetic spots popping up rapidly in LA, it’s important for patients to do their research on their providers to know their levels of experience, their capability to handle any potential complications and certainly that they are using FDA approved products and devices..

We prioritize blending science and art while maintaining each patient’s natural beauty. We’re hardly an office of fads or Instagram trends, but we’re an incredibly proud team of providers that have been there for many years, with a loyal patient base.

Some insight into my humor- I like to tease the Olive Garden tagline when talking about our practice, “When you’re here, you’re family.” We love meeting new faces and sharing what we do! Mention Bold Voyage when booking and ask about our welcome perks for new patients.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Learning how to fall on your sword will go a long way within your practice and your relationships with people. I’d like for this to be encouraging to new injectors to own up to their missteps, learn from them, and grow, rather than hide them or blame others, or even the patient.

2. Cultivate a habit of continual learning- every injector has a new pearl to offer. New anatomical findings are always being published, new studies for best practices are often in the works- all for the safety and and satisfaction of the patient. Keep that a priority.

3. Through my divorce, embracing the unease was crucial. Emotions and memories will arrive unexpectedly through the day and night and with any sort of grief, allowing yourself to feel them as they come will in turn, make the path forward much smoother.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was instill a strong work ethic while teaching me to lead with empathy. They showed me that dedication and perseverance open doors, but it’s just as important to stay kind, humble, and attuned to others along the way. Because of them, I’ve always felt empowered to work hard for what I want while remembering that true success means lifting others up with me.
