Meet Haley Cox

We were lucky to catch up with Haley Cox recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Haley, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?

The best way to develop self confidence is by putting yourself out there. I like to challenge myself once a week to get out of my comfort zone. At first I started small by complimenting strangers. Eventually I worked up to making videos for my social media for my business. Each week take a small step to challenge yourself and your confidence will grow. Become fluent in the language of your career.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Originally my business started out as Haley Nicole Interior Decorator LLC. Offering color consultations and home decorating. After 2 years in business, we have since rebranded to Homeprint Designs. We still offer color consultations and home decorating, but have also expanded to home renovations, virtual and in-person consults. As of January 2024, we also have an on staff licensed realtor. The goal is provide our clients with a team to support them in all things home. We truly believe your home is your sanctuary, your safe space. There is a property out there for everyone, but it does not always feel like home. Homeprint Designs is here to not only help you find that property, but also put your personal print on it. My personal favorite is watching families come home to their made over property and see them fall in love and enjoy the space. Nothing brings me greater joy than creating a safe place for a family. I love that my creative side can be used in such a fun way to help others

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

One of the biggest reasons I feel I have succeeded this far is my drive. I pride myself on taking care of my clients. Whether that means working until midnight to meet a deadline, or dropping every thing for a last minute appointment. I like doing what I can for the benefit of my client, which in turn helps my business. I also pride myself on communication. While sometimes this can be an area I struggle in, I do my best to over communicate everything with my clients to ensure everyone is on the same page. This not only puts the clients mind at ease, but it also helps protect the company as it leaves no room for surprises. Another important skill is my eye for color. I believe this has set me apart as a designer as working with color is something I truly succeed in. I believe practice makes perfect, so no matter what skill you are looking to improve you have to keep trying. I have made mistakes along the way, but as long as you take the opportunity to learn from them moving forward you can always grow and improve.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

My current biggest obstacle is my new location. When I originally started my business I was operating in Indiana. I have since moved to Oklahoma. It feels like I am starting over, this time with less connections than before. Not only am I building a new client base. But I have also had to make new connections with contractors, suppliers, lenders, inspectors, etc. This is not an easy task, but I am proud to say with each new month we make progress towards the overall goal!
