Meet Hallie Avolio

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hallie Avolio a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Hallie, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?

Self-care is such an important part of living a meaningful life, yet I find it is often misunderstood.

As a life coach, self-care comes up a lot. People often ask me for advice on how to practice self-care, what techniques are best, and how I would teach someone to include more self-care in their life.

My approach to self-care is that the most effective way to include it in your life is to be compassionate towards yourself and practice in a way that feels good to you in a particular moment.

For me, self-care looks different every day. However, the foundation for my self-care practice always starts with my intention. When I set the intention to take care of myself each day, I am able to find at least one moment during my waking hours that is nourishing and fulfilling. When I approach self-care from this perspective, it is most effective in all aspects of my life.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Hallie Avolio, and like many creative entrepreneurs, I am continuously revising my approach to the work I offer to this world.

I started off my career building a brand focused on women’s health and wellness. I did that through blogging, speaking events, and an extremely active presence on most social media platforms.

During the height of the pandemic (2020-2022), I recognized a strong need for women to come together in community so I began offering online women’s circles, group coaching, and ultimately private coaching. These offers centered around mindset, spiritual practices like manifestation and affirmations, as well as wellness practices like meditation and journaling.

Since 2022, I have expanded my business to include writing (I am published in 2 best-selling personal development books), speaking to larger audiences through in-person or online events, and selling courses that people can purchase and access on demand.

In 2025, I’m most looking forward to focusing my business on what is most important to me… helping people live their best lives. I am reducing the amount of time I spend on social media and becoming more intentional about my outreach and participation in events so that the high value of the work I offer is received by the right people.

I am excited to begin this year with the energy of living audaciously! To me, this means that my business will follow my heart of expressing myself unapologetically and knowing that those who need my support will be drawn to me with ease.

If you are interested in being part of my community, I invite you to follow me on Instagram @iamhallieavolio and sign up for one of my courses at the links I include in my Instagram profile.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Living your best life requires you to have the courage to do so. If I could go back in time and have a chat with my younger self – perhaps the version of me that was just graduating college and getting ready to begin in the world – I would encourage her to be curious, open to possibilities, and trust yourself.

Curiosity is one of the biggest gifts we can give ourselves and it opens us up to limitless possibilities. When we look at the world through a lens of curiosity, we ask “what if this is possible?” and we create a flow of energy.

Open to possibilities means that you allow yourself to process your understanding of life through the stories and experiences you have had, and you also give yourself a lot of space to welcome in something completely new. While this idea may seem obvious, it can be challenging to overcome those hard-wired stories and ideas about how life should be based on your experience growing up. When you say to yourself “I am open to the possibilities” you are more likely to take risks that could lead to something magical. On the flip side, you may also experience more struggle or heartache. Yet, these struggles also contribute to massive personal growth.

Lastly, the idea of trusting yourself is one that I have personally grappled with for years. As a teen and young adult, I found myself often acting based on what I thought others expected of me. While that did result in achieving many parts of my life I am beyond grateful for, I didn’t learn to trust my own instincts and ideas. As a women in her mid-40s, I’m now embracing that I know what is best for me. And even when I make mistakes or wish I had taken another path, the more I lean into trusting myself, the more I increase my confidence and feel aligned with what is most important to me.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is the woman who is ready to go all in living her best life. She is someone who has done some inner work and has confronted the parts of herself that need work. She knows she is a work in progress, and she loves the entire journey. This woman is vibrant, dynamic, creative, and looking to amplify her life. She wants her life coach to support her as she pursues new endeavors, pushes the edge of who she is, and has fun with her along the way. Whether we work on business ideas, parenting challenges, personal growth, or anything in between, my ideal client is clear on who she is and is willing to take accountability to optimize her life experience.

When done right, this work is fun, challenging, exciting, scary, and full of love.
I am not a therapist and I am not here to help people work through their trauma. I fully support doing that work first and then choosing to work with me to take your life to the next level.

I am so excited for those who read this and say “YES!!! THIS IS ME!” to reach out so we can take the first steps toward creating this life side by side.
