Meet HANA KIM

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful HANA KIM. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with HANA below.

HANA, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

I learned to be effective and successful by redefining success itself. Once, I believed success was all about money, fame, and education. So, I chased them hard, worked tirelessly, and ended up feeling exhausted with little to show for it. The real game-changer came when I shifted my focus to what truly made me happy – that’s when desired results started falling into my lap effortlessly.

Happiness for me is traveling and experiencing new things. I used to think I had to work hard, earn money, and then go travel. But guess what? The truth was the exact opposite.

I began by resting, staying peaceful and comfortable, and envisioning where I wanted to be. I’d imagine myself there, a big grin on my face, feeling genuinely happy. And somehow, as if the universe conspired in my favor, situations began to align towards that direction.

This mindset shift led me to leave my decade-long career, stop earning money, and still manage to live in one of the most expensive places in America – San Diego, California, for several months. Now, I’m in Bali, living my dream.

If you’re thinking, “Oh, she must’ve saved up a lot of money for her travel,” and if you consider $1,500 a lot, then you’re right. But in San Diego, $1,500 isn’t even enough for monthly rent. All I had was $1500 and 2 suitcases for California Journey.

Being the only one in the room that looks like me doesn’t intimidate me anymore. Instead, it reminds me that I’m living my version of success, one where happiness leads the way. And in doing so, I’ve discovered that when you align with your true desires, the world starts to work with you, not against you.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

What I do, and what’s special about it, is that it doesn’t involve money. My journey is all about focusing on what makes you happy, imagining it vividly, and feeling as if you’re already living it. This philosophy has guided my life and led me to experiences beyond my wildest dreams.

I am an aspiring writer, not a business owner, so I don’t have products or services to sell. My passion lies in sharing my story and inspiring others to redefine success on their own terms. When my book is published, you can discover how I managed to live my dream life after stopping the pursuit of money.

If you know any publishers who might be interested in my unique journey and want to help me turn it into a book, please spread the word. Your support can help me share this message with a wider audience, showing that true success is about happiness and fulfillment, not just financial gain.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I realize that the most impactful qualities in my journey were not the ones I initially thought would lead to success. Instead of focusing on improving potentially lucrative skills, I wish I had spent more time on what genuinely made me happy.

The three qualities that truly helped me were:

1. Focusing on What Makes Me Happy: Rather than chasing conventional markers of success, I concentrated on activities and experiences that brought me joy. This shift in focus allowed me to align my life with my true passions.

2. Living Life with Imagination: I learned to vividly imagine the life I wanted to live, feeling as if I was already there. This practice of creative visualization helped me stay motivated and positive, even during challenging times.

3. Trusting in the Power of Imagination: Believing that my imagination could shape my reality was crucial. This trust enabled me to take bold steps and embrace opportunities that aligned with my envisioned life.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to prioritize happiness and fulfillment over conventional success metrics. Develop your ability to imagine your ideal life vividly and trust in its power to manifest. By focusing on what truly brings you joy and living with a sense of imaginative purpose, you can create a life that feels genuinely successful and rewarding.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes, I am actively seeking partners and collaborators, particularly in the realm of publication. I’m looking for individuals who value hope, imagination, and faith. Ideally, I want to work with someone who can ask insightful questions, helping me stay focused and providing structured responses that will ultimately form the foundation of a book.

I believe that having an external perspective is crucial because what I find interesting and important about my journey might differ from what others want to know and consider significant. If you are passionate about storytelling and believe in the power of faith and imagination, I would love to connect with you.

If you’re interested in collaborating, please reach out to me via email at [email protected]. Let’s turn this inspiring journey into a story that can touch many lives.
