Meet Hanif Brown

We recently connected with Hanif Brown and have shared our conversation below.

Hanif, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

Seeing my brothers succeed. Being able to witness first hand the friends that I’ve grew up with make their dreams come true gives me motivation to keep moving forward with everything. Also a big part of it is my twin brother Hasahn. He always makes sure to help me with whatever I need. Whether it be helping me get to and from photo/video shoots to simply telling me to keep going. A lot of stuff happening in my life was cause of him and I couldn’t thank him enough.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Hanif Brown aka Ideaofsin or Sin and I’m a photographer and videographer. I’ve also dabble in graphic design, creative design and PR for the collective I’m apart of called “Kult Seven” or “KU7T.” I’ve also been working on short films that I plan on releasing sometime next year.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Honestly the best advice I could give anyone is to shoot everything. Grab your camera, whether it’s a $20 disposable to a $2000 Sony, and shoot everything. Models, landscapes, nature, etc.

Just. Shoot. Everything.

That way you’ll develop you style of shooting.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

Letting me drop out of college and move to Orlando, FL. For a long time I knew that college wasn’t for me and that I wanted to do something creatively. I went for one semester and it was a miserable time I’ll tell you that. But I had came home and sat down with my parents really expressing what I want out of my life and they trusted me.
