Meet Hanna Powers

We recently connected with Hanna Powers and have shared our conversation below.

Hanna, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?

My optimism comes from the belief that even in the darkest moments, there’s always something to be grateful for. I’ve learned that life isn’t about avoiding challenges but about finding the strength to keep moving forward. My family, my faith, and the incredible people I’ve met along the way have always reminded me that there’s so much beauty in the world to hold on to. I think that’s where my sense of hope comes from—knowing that every new day brings the opportunity for joy, growth, and connection. As impossibly sad and extremely devastating some moments have been, it gets easier when you realize they are just that- moments. Now I understand how circumstances in life weave and cross to create moments that define what living really is. They are so powerful that the impact is permanent. Yet the perfection of time and place is fleeting. That may be the biggest lesson of all.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I’m currently in the midst of crafting a new franchise that I’m thrilled to expand beyond its roots. While it started as a segment about showcasing the best restaurants in the area, I’m reimagining it as a broader lifestyle brand. Think tours of stunning yachts and mansions, fun and chatty guest segments, and even reels for social media that capture the essence of luxury and a Lowcountry lifestyle.

What excites me most about this evolution is making high-end experiences feel accessible and personable. I love connecting with people, sharing unique experiences, and creating content that feels like a conversation with a friend. It’s about celebrating the best life has to offer—whether that’s the perfect meal, an incredible view, or a great story.

This year is all about growth, so stay tuned for new content, collaborations, and maybe even some surprises along the way. My goal is to take this brand to the next level while staying grounded in authenticity and joy.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, curiosity, and the ability to connect with people.

Resilience has been key because life isn’t always smooth, and challenges are inevitable. Staying grounded and moving forward, even in tough times, is a skill I’ve honed through experience. My advice? Learn to embrace setbacks as part of the process and find strength in your purpose.

Curiosity has driven me to explore new opportunities and stay open to growth. Whether it’s chasing a story as a journalist or diving into new creative ventures, being curious keeps things exciting. For anyone starting out, I’d say never stop asking questions and never stop learning. Curiosity is the key to uncovering your passions.

Lastly, building genuine connections has been transformative for me. From colleagues who believed in me early on to the community I engage with now, relationships have opened so many doors. My advice here is simple: Be authentic, show kindness, and take the time to nurture your network—you never know where those connections may lead.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents did for me was give me a foundation of opportunity paired with the discipline to make the most of it. They provided me with incredible experiences, like a top-level equestrian upbringing and the best education, but they also made sure I understood the value of hard work and self-sufficiency.

They were strict, but that taught me to be independent, to set goals, and to stay focused on achieving them. I’m so grateful for the balance they struck—they gave me the tools to dream big while instilling the work ethic and resilience to turn those dreams into reality.
