Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hannah Carmody. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hannah, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by constantly challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone. Whether it’s creating new dance cardio routines, building themed playlists, or hosting unique classes like birthday or bachelorette parties, I always look for inspiration in the energy of my community. Connecting with people—their stories and their goals—helps me build something bigger. Even small moments—like seeing someone light up during class or requesting their favorite song—fuel my drive to keep things fresh and fun. Remember to lean into what excites you creatively—you never know who you might inspire.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the founder of Move with Hannah, a dance fitness experience that brings movement and fun to all kinds of celebrations, from bachelorette parties to corporate wellness events. I specialize in dance cardio that’s approachable, inclusive, and designed to make people feel confident —no dance experience necessary! What excites me most about my work is creating personalized, unforgettable experiences for every group. Whether that’s curating a playlist of someone’s favorite songs or hosting an energetic, memory-filled birthday workout, I want everyone to feel amazing! Excited to announce the official launch of my Move with Hannah website, featuring my latest consulting service: “Dance Project”! “Dance Project” is for anyone looking for creative choreography for their life experiences: first dances, talent show performances, bridal party choreography – I want to hear your ideas and bring this vision to life. Got a crazy idea? Let’s hear it – let it move you!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Adaptability – Moving to new cities and entering the fitness space required me to adapt quickly, learn from others, and keep growing.
2. Energy – As a fitness instructor, bringing positivity and energy to every class makes all the difference, whether it’s a small group or a big event.
3. Connection – Building relationships with clients and truly understanding their needs has been key to growing my business.
For those just starting out, my advice is to stay open to feedback, find mentors, and trust that small steps will lead to big progress.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely! Collaborations are one of the key ways that I get to connect with my community. I’m always open to collaborations, especially with fitness brands, local businesses, and different venues looking to share their space for dance experiences. I love working with people who value creativity, inclusivity, and empowerment. Whether we’re creating content together or planning exciting fitness events, collaborations are all about building something meaningful. If this resonates with you, reach out via Instagram or email—I’d love to connect! In the events space, it’s been exciting to work with photographers and videographers to develop their portfolio and provide my clients with content.
