We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Hannah Davis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hannah, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
Our family has always valued giving back and helping others any chance we can. It is something that has been at the core of everything we do for quite some time so giving back to the community is now something that comes naturally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Our family bought Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in North Branch, MN earlier this year and reopened the store in April of this year. We have been open every day since (excluding holidays) and always love seeing all of the community come to support us. We have a variety of food options ranging from barbecue sandwiches to giant baked potatoes and we even have gluten free and vegetarian options available.
What feels special about what we do, is seeing how happy our customers are! We also offer catering services and have partnered with many in the local community including North Brook Church, North Branch Area High School, Cornerstone, and privately for many other events including weddings, birthdays, and celebrations. We love to make someone’s day better by serving up delicious smoked barbecue!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Customer service is at the top of our list and this is something that we have been hitting hard from the start. We understand that many local customers have not had a good experience with the previous owners and we are having to fight to earn our reputation back with every food order we get. Thankfully the local community has been a big help with sharing the news of our new owners, but there is still work to do which is why we are so focused on customer service. Other great skills include problem solving, and communication.

Yes of course! We have already created great relationships with many groups and businesses in our area and we are always looking to partner with more.
