We recently connected with Hannah Flattery and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
What developed my confidence the most was embracing my darkest parts. Most people shy away from their shadows, but my journey was about bringing them into the light and allowing them to exist as part of me—just as much as the light. The key was learning to love all of me, even the parts I once felt ashamed of.
Everyone has shadows, and when you fully own them, you become untouchable. Nobody can use anything against you if you’ve already embraced every part of who you are. That’s why shadow work became such an essential part of my personal transformation and the foundation of what it means to be a Rebel Goddess. Confidence, to me, isn’t just about appearing strong—it’s about being unafraid to be your true self and stand up for what you believe in.
Oh, and I’ve also been knocked down many times in life and lost everything, and those experiences taught me that I can be happy with nothing because my happiness or worth doesn’t depend on external circumstances. I even got a tattoo down the middle of my spine to remind myself of that, it says, “and still I rise,” as a daily that no matter what happens I will always get back up. To me, that’s the ultimate source of power—trusting yourself to handle anything life throws your way.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Hannah, founder of Rebel Goddesses—a movement dedicated to empowering women to break free from societal norms, reconnect with their bodies, and reclaim their feminine power through sensuality, creativity, and authentic expression!
As a former model and entrepreneur turned feminine embodiment coach and pole artist, I started this movement because I once felt deeply disconnected from my own feminine essence, even while working in feminine industries like modeling and fashion. It all felt surface-level—I looked “good” on the outside, but my soul was dying on the inside.
I turned to spirituality for answers, but it wasn’t enough for my feminine soul. Everything changed when I accidentally discovered pole dance. It awakened my sensuality and reconnected me to my body on a deep level. Feminine embodiment and expression became the catalysts for my personal empowerment, and I became determined to share this transformative power with women everywhere.
And so Rebel Goddess Academy was born! It’s an online space where I teach feminine embodiment and sensual movement practices and share teachings based on a range of archetypes I created from the “Soulful Sista” and the “Dark Diva.” I believe femininity is vast and multifaceted, and women deserve to feel free to embrace every aspect of their expression—beyond narrow societal definitions—celebrating both their soft feminine essence AND their wild, seductive, or badass side.
I currently offer 1:1 coaching, sensual embodiment programs, and the Rebel Goddess Community, where women can connect with others on a similar journey and rise in feminine power together.
I also recently developed a quiz users can take to discover their Rebel Goddess Archetype which corresponds to their unique way of expressing their sensuality/sexuality and feminine allure! This is a great starting point to start to explore your feminine expression and how it connects back to your feminine power.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Hmm, if I had to choose, I’d say the three most impactful qualities and skills in my journey were self-awareness, resilience, and creativity.
My transformation began with self-awareness—when I started to deeply question who I was beyond societal expectations. This helped me identify the disconnect I felt from my feminine essence and allowed me to take steps toward reconnecting with my true self. My advice? Make discovering “who you truly are” and getting in alignment with your soul the MOST important aspects of your journey. Once you know yourself, things begin to flow naturally.
When it comes to resilience, reclaiming my feminine power wasn’t easy. I had to leave behind a comfortable but unfulfilling life in Los Angeles, face my shadows, and heal deep past traumas. Resilience kept me moving forward even when the path felt unclear. My advice is to build resilience by viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you, and always remind yourself of your “why” when things feel hard.
Finally, creativity was the greatest healing force in my life. Whether through pole dance, photography, or writing, creativity allowed me to process emotions and reconnect with my body and femininity in ways that traditional methods simply couldn’t. I would advise everyone to tap into their creativity, even if it feels uncomfortable at first. Experiment with movement, art, or any form of self-expression that excites you. The mistake society makes is thinking creativity is only for artists, but I believe it’s for everyone. In fact, I see it as the highest form of feminine spirituality and a gateway to self-discovery and empowerment.
How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is a woman who feels a deep power within her and knows she’s meant to contribute to the world through her feminine soul—but she hasn’t quite figured out how to fully tap into that power yet. Maybe she’s done the spiritual work or achieved monetary success, but her soul still feels unfulfilled, and she craves MORE. Not more in the traditional sense, but – more play, more pleasure, more depth, more creativity, more joy, more spice, more badasserie, more aliveness!
She’s a woman who wants to be successful but also wants to feel alive, every day—not just survive or “get by.” She’s ready to break free from societal norms, celebrate her femininity, and pave her own path. She’s someone who desires to uplift and inspire other women along the way, redefining what it means to be a woman on her own terms.
I often attract women who have walked a path similar to mine: former models or creatives who feel boxed in by restrictive definitions of feminine expression and power, or entrepreneurs burned out from the hustle, realizing they’ve lost touch with their bodies and feminine essence. These women have awakened to the fact that something is missing—they want to reclaim their softness, their creativity, and their sensuality, while also embracing their inner badass.
All the women I work with have a fire inside them. They believe in the power of the feminine and want to embody their full spectrum—from softness to boldness, from vulnerability to strength. They are ready to be unapologetically themselves.
That’s the epitome of a Rebel Goddess.
